    Virgil loved watching Roman act. The way he seemed to completely lose himself in the character was truly a sight to behold. Also, his ass looked fantastic in that prince costume.
      Their local theatre was putting on a production of Into The Woods, and Roman was nearly unintelligible when he saw the cast list posted. Virgil couldn't be prouder.
     He sat on the edge of his seat in the back, resting his head in his hand dreamily as he listened to Roman's melodious bass.
"May I kiss you?" Roman sang. Virgil knew that line like the back of his hand. Roman had used it multiple times, both to practice and get a peck from Virgil, but now he was singing it to someone else. Virgil's stomach churned uncomfortably.
     Then they kissed. Holy shit.
      Logically, Virgil knew it wasn't real. Roman didn't have feelings for this woman, he was simply doing his job, nothing more. But a much louder voice in his head screamed "fuck" on repeat. He dug his bitten fingernails into his palms, his blood running cold but his face burning with jealousy.
     "Once more, please?" Roman sang, wrapping an arm around the woman's waist and cupping her chin. Motherfuck, again?!
      Their lips met again, this kiss much more passionate and convincing than the last. Virgil felt like he might pass out at any second. It just felt so wrong.  He tried to enjoy the rest of the show, but he couldn't stop replaying those moments in his head.

~~~~~
      Roman came running out in his prince costume, picking Virgil up by his waist and spinning him around like he weighed nothing. Virgil couldn't help but laugh, completely forgetting about the kiss in a blissful moment of sheer love and pride.
      "So? What did you think?" Roman asked, his eyes gleaming. Virgil smiled widely.
      "You blow me away, Ro. I'm so proud, that was incredible! You're incredible!" Virgil gushed, a slight laugh in his voice. Roman laughed too, kissing Virgil quickly.
     "You sure are!" A familiar voice called out. Virgil turned to see her. The woman Roman had to kiss on stage. Virgil tried not to show his distaste as Roman smiled brightly. "You were great tonight, Roman."
     "Thank you so much, Alice. Virgie, this is Alice, she played the baker's wife, she's amazing." Alice waved him off as Virgil snaked an arm around Roman's waist and smiled a little too sweetly.
      "Nice to meet you," his voice was dripping with false happiness.
     "You too, Virgil, was it? Roman over here is a very, very, good kisser." Alice said with a chuckle. She was obviously joking but it made Virgil's blood boil.
      "Yeah, he is," he snapped a little too harshly. Alice chuckled again before getting swarmed by a group a family and friends.
     "Let me just change and take off my makeup, and then I say we head out, yeah? I can't wait to get you home." Roman embellished his statement with a wink and Virgil had to remind himself to be angry.
     "Yeah, sounds fine," he muttered.
~~~~~

       The couple sat in the car. The silence was so thick, you could slice it.
      "Okay, you're being super weird. What's wrong?" Roman finally asked, placing a hand on Virgil's thigh.
      "Nothing is wrong."
      "Virgil Henry Underwood, you think I don't know when you're lying? Tell me what's wrong."
       "I don't like seeing you kiss her!" Virgil finally admitted, gripping the steering wheel so tight, his knuckles blanched. Roman paused for a long moment.
      "You're jealous? Of Alice?!"  He asked finally, genuine surprise in his voice.
     "Yes! Yes, I'm jealous of fucking Alice!"
      "Virgil, I don't even like her! She's such a diva! Honey, you know how much I love you." Roman sounded hurt, which twisted Virgil's heart but he was too angry.
      "Then why do you never kiss me like that?!" Virgil shouted, surprising himself. He pulled into the driveway, convincing his tears not to fall.
      "Virgil—"
       "It's fine," Virgil took the keys out of the ignition. "I'm being crazy, let's just let it go." He stepped out of the car, walking into the house.
      Before he could turn the lights on, he was pushed against a wall, feeling Roman's warm breath tantalizingly close to his face. He saw Roman's eyes flick down to his lips, asking silently for permission. Virgil felt his face burn, closing the gap between them. They didn't pull away until they were gasping for breath.
       "Can I show you how much I love you, Virgil?" Roman asked, running his hands up and down Virgil's sides. Virgil nodded, unable to form words. Maybe he should get jealous more often.
