Beautiful (Teal) Wish

Prologue Part 1

Hello! My name is Turquoise Lazuli and this is a story about my family! And you know what? My mommies are really pretty! I'm pretty sure I'm gonna end up taller than Mama Dot, but she has beautiful blonde hair that that's a little brighter than mine and she likes to keep in a triangle shape and light skin. Her lush green eyes hide behind her big glasses. She's almost blind without them. Now Mom is Hawaiian with awesome blue hair! She tells me she was born with black hair but I don't believe her! She's twice as tall as Mama Dot.

"Starlight, star bright, first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might have this one wish tonight. Hey star, I wish my mommies could be together but their mommies don't like them together because they're my mommies. Big emphasis on that S at the end. But I want them to be happy together, with me. Please star, let us be together, I promise that when I grow up and become a mommy too, I'll let my kid love whoever they want, so just grant my wish?" I said looking longingly up at the night sky.

But I guess we should start at the beginning of this story, the very beginning, the before I was born kind of beginning.

My parents met in high school, despite not having many classes together. Mom says Mama Dot literally fell for her when they first met.

Well not quite that literally, the school bully Jasper had tripped Peridot and Lapis had just happened to be in Peridot's trajectory. Lapis had dropped her books and Peridot lost her glasses so they were both on the floor gathering their things while the tall bully was laughing at the whole situation. Lapis found Peridot's glasses before she could and handed them to her.

"Wow thanks," Peridot said in her slightly nasally voice while readjusting them to her face. Her vision quickly became clear again and she got a good look at the person before her. She noticed the books Lapis was carrying and asked, "isn't that last week's homework?"

"Yeah, it is," Lapis responded looking down, "I'm really behind. Oh hey, you look like a mega nerd, maybe you could tutor me?"

All of a sudden Jasper appeared in their faces and smirked, taunting, "are you nerds homework dating?"

"What the heck is homework dating Jasper?" Lapis inquired with a hint of annoyance in her voice, "and just when I thought you couldn't sound any stupider."

"Well, if you could go back to be intimidating again, maybe we could be the power couple of this school too!" Jasper tried to preach to Lapis.

"First of all Jasper, my parents hate me for liking girls," Lapis retorted, "second of all, my parents are trying to set me up with their friends' son, and finally you are a manipulative, self-centered, abusive bitch who left physical and emotional scars all over me!" Her voice wavered a bit at the end.

'Why am I still standing here?' Peridot thought to herself after assessing the current situation as potentially dangerous. The school bell sounded, swiftly ending the confrontation between the freshmen as they went their separate ways towards their classes.

The three freshmen soon came to realize they all had gym together this semester, along with Amethyst, Jasper's twin sister. Amethyst spotted Lapis and waved her over to her.
