In another world; ch 23
Nobody moved. Nobody talked. There was a long silence. Then, two kids slowly started walking over to us. A girl, and a guy, holding hands. They looked like a couple. As the came closer, the boy walked, and the girl stood behind. He nodded at all of us. "well, hello siblings." He said, with a grin. Ryan, Anastasia, Zac, Noah, and I all looked at each other. Even Jeimy sent me a confused gaze. I shrugged. "Um.." We all said at the same time. "Don't be shy. We've seen every one of you around town. We both know what you can do." I moved back a bit, bumping into something. I looked up to see Ryan glaring straight back at the guy in front of us. "Hm," The guy said, his eyes connecting with mine. "My name is Hayden." He said, with a smile. He had nice brown hair, and a tattooed body. I quickly smiled back. "Juliet." I said. "Ryan," I said, turning around, bumping into Ryan on purpose while introducing people. "Anastasia, Noah, Zac. Jeimy." Hayden nodded, grinning."It's really nice to meet you all. That's my sister, Helena." I heard Zac counting under his breath. "6, 7, 8. There's 8 now." He muttered. Hayden's sister, Helena cocked her head to the side, standing in front of me. "Blue." She simply said, moving on to Ryan. "Dark green." She said again, now moving onto Anastasia. "Green. Just green." Hayden just nodded. "Dark blue," She said to Zac, and now she moved onto Noah. "Red. Muddy red, more like it." Before she moved away, she also spat, "Keep your thoughts to yourself," To Noah. "Ryan and Zac couldn't help holding in a laugh. "Deep, deep red." She said to Jeimy.
"Ah," Hayden muttered. "What the hell did she just do?" Anastasia blurted out. "My sister, she can read auras and time travel. And I can read minds and transport." Hayden said, winking at me. 'Your boyfriend's jealous,' I heard someone's thoughts in my head. I bit my lip, looking at Hayden. 'He's not my boyfriend,' I thought back. 'You're really cute, then.' I rolled my eyes, Hayden smirking with his hands in his pockets. 'Hey! I can hear you two!' Noah screamed. I cringed at the sound in my head, and my phone rang. The number was private, so I walked away and answered the phone. "Hello?" I said. "Juliet Hope?" A man said. "Yes?" I answered back. "We need you to come to the hospital." I froze. My heart shattered in my heart. "Who, who's in the hospital?" I asked, tears already welling up in my eyes. I already knew the answer. "Your father." I dropped the phone, and started in a sprint, running to my car. I dug my keys out my pocket, running even faster. Thunder struck the sky, a yellow color crossing the clouds. I was crying, my heart about to jump out my chest. I could see the entrance of the woods, teachers giving me looks, and some students looking at me. I saw the car across the lot, and I ran even faster. I ended up slipping, falling to the ground. It was raining. Someone's face appeared above me. "Whoa, where you going?" Zac whispered, giving me a hand. "You dropped your phone. We practically had to hold Ryan back, he was devastated. Look, we need to go back soon-" I pushed away from his grasp. "Zac, you don't understand. My dad, he's.. he's in the hospital. Something happened to him! Zac, I need to go, right now. Please!" I said. He looked taken back. "Oh, Juliet." He said, pulling me into a hug. I cried into his shirt. Zac, he was like a brother. Someone I could trust, who wouldn't judge me. He pat my head, and I cried nonstop. "I need to go." I said, with a few hiccups. "At least let me take you." He whispered into my hair. Then, he took my hand, and we walked to my car. His fingers intertwined with mine relaxed me. "I love you, you know that right?" I whispered to him." He grinned, and replied, "It's the least I can do." He squeezed my hand, and I brushed my hair out my face. I gave my keys to Zac, and I jumped in the passenger's seat. He drove the car, and we were off to the hospital.
Zac's hand was still wrapped with mine, as we walked into the hospital. Everything was so.. white. I approached the receptionist. She smiled at me. "Last name?"
"Hope." I replied. "Who's your guest with you? Boyfriend?" Zac chuckled. "No, brother." I said, looking up to him with a shy smile. He returned a sweet smile, and the receptionist said, "Oh, sorry! Okay, he's on the third floor, room 30." I headed for the elevator, as Zac said thank you to the woman. We jumped in, and Zac moved closer to me. The elevator binged, and we both walked out, Zac leading the way. "You know where you're going?" I asked. He nodded. "I was born in room 30." He said. I could feel the smile on his face. I was shocked. We came to a door. "You want me to wait out here?" He whispered. "Hell no," I muttered, pulling him in with me. I entered the room, to see my father hooked up to a bunch of machines. "Daddy.." I whispered, and ran over to his side. He was laying down, his body pale. A nurse was in the room. "What happened to him?" I said, looking at her. "Hit by a car." She said simply. My eyes started watering again. "He needs some shots," The nurse said. "No! Don't touch him." I said, shielding his body. Then, the doctor walked in. My dad wasn't breathing. Soft hands were placed on my hips, pulling me away from the bed. "No, no, no!" I screamed, crying like a baby. "Dad, you're my only parent I have left! Don't die! Not yet!" I screamed. "I need you!" I screamed over and over again. I was tugged back, and someone pulled me out the room. I was crying again, and I sunk to the floor. I hit my head against the wall, covering my eyes.
