In another world; ch 35
Juliet’s POV.
I woke up to a tugging pain in my stomach. I sighed, and tried to stand up. I was light-headed, and I stumbled, falling back down. ‘Zac. He’s hurt.’ A voice said in my mind. “Who is this?” I asked, confused. ‘Your wolf. Every person who can shape shift has a wolf. I’m basically like… a second you.’ This wolf thought back. “What happened to Zac?” I asked. ‘Just get to the bridge. Quick, I don’t know how much longer he’ll be alive.’ With that, I threw on jeans and I was out the door.
Noah’s POV.
I came back to Juliet’s house in the middle of the night. She was sleeping, but Ryan was downstairs, on the couch. He looked hurt. In a lot of pain. But he said nothing was wrong. He was acting weird, and I could hear his thoughts in my head. Most of them were aimed at Juliet, or Zac. “What happened to you earlier? You didn’t come to school.” He finally asked me. “My sister died.” I said simply. Ryan’s head slowly turned to face me. “I’m really sorry to hear.” Pain his eyes, and he frowned. I nodded. “It’s okay. I was just kicked out of my mom’s house so… I have to look for a new home.” I said, giving him a little smile. “Stay here.” Ryan said. “But-“ I started. “But, there are two empty guest rooms. You can stay in one.” He said again. “No, no, no. It’s okay, man.” I said, looking around. “Stay. Please.” He begged. I nodded silently, looking down. “I’ll be back soon,” I said, getting up. I decided I would give my real parents another visit.
Juliet’s POV.
I drove towards the bridge. I felt as if there was a hole in my stomach. The pain was hurting even more as I became closer and closer to the bridge. My heart sank when I finally saw him in the water. My heart sank even lower when I saw a boat coming straight toward his pale body. “No!” I screamed out, jumping out of my car and looking over the edge of the bridge. I let out a groan, taking off my hoodie and shoes. “Three, two, one,” I counted out loud before I jumped into the water, swimming after Zac.
Zac’s POV.
“Here, you grab his arm. I’ll get his leg. Mariana, make sure you’ve got a good towel ready. You guys ready now?” A man’s voice was heard. “Hey sir, look! It’s a girl! She’s swimming toward the boat!” A young boy’s voice said. “Sir, I’ll get her safely onto the boat. Hey Jackson, throw me another towel.” A girl said. Now, I was being moved, and placed onto a hard wet floor. “Is he still alive?” The young boy asked again. “I don’t know, Jackson. I really don’t know.” The man said. “Look at the girl.” The boy whispered. “She’s pretty,” the man said, and I felt the boat shake.
“You can wake up now.” The boy whispered, and I slowly opened my eyes. “Wh-where am I?” I asked him. “You’re on my brother and sister’s boat! We were going to a town across the way,” The boy pointed over, and I could see a little town. “And, we saw you in the water. Then, a girl was in the water, too! What a coincidence.” He had brown hair, and looked about seven. “A girl?” I asked. “Zac!” Someone shouted. I looked around, and saw Juliet running toward me. I hopped up, running toward her. “Juliet, I missed you so much.” Was the first thing I said as soon as she was in my arms. She was crying quietly now, and I just sat her next to me on the floor. “You two know each other?” The man said, and he looked about my age. I nodded, and sighed, kissing Juliet’s forehead.
“So, how’d you both get out here?” The teen asked. I figured out that his name was Sam. He was 17. The girl was named Mariana, and she was 15, and she was dating Sam. (A/N: NONE OF THEM ARE RELATED, THE LITTLE BOY SEES THEM AS SIBLINGS.) The little boy was named Jackson, and he was thirteen. He was related to Mariana, and they were indeed traveling to the town next over by boat. “Well…” I started. “Well, I was looking for Zac. I saw him in the water, and I came out to help him. Then, we ran into you guys.” Juliet said, giving me a small smile. I nodded, beaming a grin back at her. “Aw, you two are so cute!” I immediately turned a shade of pink, and so did Juliet. Then, she suddenly smiled, and started to laugh. I smiled too, and sighed, leaning my head on her shoulder.
