ch. 6

It was the top of the ninth and the Astros were up 5-2. Alex had done really good during the game, I was really impressed. As the game was coming to an end I was started to get a little nervous.

"Syd, over there." Gabby said pointing toward the dug out. Alex was looking a me with a smile. He was really starting to make me feel some type of way.

"Meet me right here when we get done." He said pointing to where the gate to enter the dugout was. I smiled and nodded my head. He smiled back and hid back in the dugout. I couldn't believe he was going out of his way to talk to me. I mean being a professional baseball player I'm sure he got so much attention from girls, what made me any different?

Once the game was done we grabbed our things and the girls started to get up. I guess the girls saw I was a bit hesitant to go over to the dugout so I followed behind as they made their way to where Alex had told me to meet him. We approached the dugout and I could see some of the players still walking around putting their equipment away and then I saw Alex. He was in the corner putting his batting gloves in his back pocket, grabbing his bats and stuffing away his helmet. He looked so handsome it was making me even more nervous.

"Sydney, quit staring at him like that. You're gonna scare him off." Briana said nugding my arm. I rolled my eyes hoping Alex didn't hear.

"Hey girls." Alex said finally making his way towards us. I quickly stood up straight and tried my best to act normal.

"You played a good game." I said, the first thing to come out of my mouth. He chuckled looking up at me. Even the way he laughed made me nervous.

"Thanks. Sydney right?"

"Yes and you're Alex?" I said sarcastically. He chuckled, looking out to the field. Man he was really handsome. A man with longish hair snuck up behind Alex and smiled.

"Hellooo ladies." He said patting Alex on the back. I could feel Gabby staring at him basically drooling.

"Has Alex invited y'all to hang with us tonight?" He said smiling wide.

"I was just about to ask them, thank you very much. By the way this is Jake." He said shoving the tall man to the side.

"So y'all up for it? I'm having a little get together at my place and you guys are more than welcome to come." I looked over the at girls who were already looking at me. I nodded and smiled looking back at Alex.

"Cool. I could uh give you my number and you could get my address later?" He said tilting his head. I thought every single one of his actions were so cute. I immediately offer him my phone and he types in his number real quick. When he's done he smiles and passes it back to me.

"Alright so I hope to get a text from you soon?" Alex said grabbing his equipment once again.

"Yes you will." I said smiling. I literally didn't know how to act. I got butterflies everytime he looked me in the eyes. With that we said our goodbyes and they headed to their locker room.
