alex's pov

I ran out into the field and began my pregame stretches. Running out onto the field before a game was always adrenaline rushing but today felt different for some reason.

"Aye! It's hot today." Yuli said while leaning over to began his stretches. We were right in the middle of the season and with Texas weather it was super hot outside.

We did our basic stretches and once we were done we sprinted into the outfield. I turned around and looked at the crowd which I did every game just to see what kind of fans showed up to support. I scanned the first level of fans and saw mostly adults with their kids. I began to scan the second level and was surprised to see a familiar face.

"No way." I said while stopping and really taking a look at the girl I think I saw the night before. Her wavy dark hair that was pulled half up and was looking really REALLY beautiful. She was looking down at her phone when her friend from last night saw me looking and got her attention. She finally looked at me and smiled.

This has to be fate. There's no way I meet this girl last night and I'm thinking about her since she left in the Uber and now she's here. I waved, trying not to make it too obvious that I was excited, which she returned. I really hoped she couldn't tell how hard I was blushing at that moment.

Last night, before her friend dragged her away, she told me she live in Corpus Christi where I had played for the Astros in the minor leagues. I hadn't mentioned playing in the MLB because I didn't want her to see me as "a big star". It was a weird coincidence which made me want to tell her right then and there.

"Who you waving at?" Jake said as he ran up behind me.

"Remember the girl I told you I talked to last night? The one I knocked to floor?" I said walking towards the dugout.

He chuckled, "The one you tackled? Yes I remember."

"Well she's here. I just saw her on the second level." I said putting my cap on the bench. I was really debating going and telling one of the security guards to move them down closer to the dugout so I could talk to her after the game but I didn't know if that would be too much. I just really wanted to talk to her again.

"Go tell Gary to sit her closer! I want to see this mystery girl up close." Jake said tying his shoe laces. I knew it was the only way I would get to talk to her again so I told Gary, our dugout security guard, to bring the girls down.

"Sydney! He saw you! If that's not fate I don't know what to tell you." Briana said clearly way too excited. This was crazy. I definitely wanted to talk to Alex again, I mean from what I got to learn about him last night he seemed like a good guy.

"Excuse me ladies, I was requested to upgrade your seats if y'all would like." A man who seemed to be a worker said to us.

"Oh of course!" Gabby said grabbing her bag and snacks. Briana and I shrugged and followed the man who lead us down an elevator to the first level of the ballpark.

"Alex did this, he had to have told him to get us." Gabby said excitedly. If Alex was putting in this much effort to trying and talk to me again then maybe he was really a good guy.

The guard led us all the way down till we were three rows away from home plate. The view from here was amazing. We were right next to the on deck circle so we definately would have an encounter with the Astros third baseman.

The game was about to start and Springer and Altuve were already in front of the dugout taking practice swings. The anticipation waiting for Alex to come out of the dugout was getting too real. All these thoughts still running through my head. How could he not tell me he was a major league baseball player?

"If things don't work out with you and Bregman, maybe he could introduce us to one of his friends." Gabby said tilting her head towards George. I chuckled.

The Yankees took the field and Springer went up to bat. Alex walked out of the dugout and immediately I could feel myself getting nervous. He probably felt eyes on him because he turned and look straight at me and smirked. SMIRKED. He was really killing me here.

Springer unfortunately struck out so Altuve made his way to the plate which moved Alex right in front of us. I wanted to say something but he was in game mode so I didn't want to cause him to make a mistake. Jose quickly hit a base hit into left feild so Alex approached the plate. He was really looking like a badass and it was REALLY attractive.

It didn't him long before he hit a homerun. Everyone in the crowd jumped on their feet and cheered for Alex as he rounded the bases which caused me and the girls to stand as well.

As he made his way to the dugout he gave the guys high fives and before stepping foot into the dugout he glanced at me and winked.
