Chapter 1
I took in a deep breath and propped my elbows on the iron fencing leading down to the subway.
This day had been hell.
I took one last draw of my cigarette and flicked it down on the ground. “Hey jackass.”
I opened my eyes to see a girl standing in front of me. She had a cute face, complimented by mossy green eyes and flaming red curly hair.
Oh shit, I think I know her.
“Listen, I don't quite remember what happened that night. To be blatantly honest, I do that sort of stuff with a lot of girls, but if you're pregnant, I am in no position to be a father right now.” In my defense, the coat she was wearing was the kind girls wear to hide the fact that they're with child.
That must of not been the case because whoever this girl was, I had just pissed her off. Big time.
“For your information, mister I-think-I'm-all-tough-cause-I-wear-motorcycle-boots-and-a-leather jacket, I would never sleep with you. Not even if you were the last man on earth!” She yelled. I stared at her.
Shocking how a girl that innocent looking to have that much anger.
“I'm sorry, I didn't know yo-”
“No. Don't even begin to apologize to me.” She turned around and started to storm off before she turned back around and looked at me. “Don't you have a bank to rob or a a person to beat up?” Then she turned back around and left.
“What the actual fuck just happened?” I looked over and saw my best friend Camden walking over to me. I shoved my hands in my jacket packets and pushed off the railing.
“I have no clue.” he laughed and slapped my back.
“Kingsley man, you gotta lay off messing around with girls man. Or at least keep a list of what they look like and their names.”
We started walking and then it hit me. Why was she yelling at me to begin with? I mean besides the fact that I kinda called her fat.
“She came up to me in the first place, out of nowhere, and called me a jackass.” I sighed and went to tun the corner where our house us when Camden grabbed my shoulder and pulled me back.
“What are you doing?” I asked confused. He smirked at me and pushed me forward.
"We aren't living there anymore.” I stopped and looked at him. “What?"
Darin was the leader of a big gang in the city. Not only that, but we are arch enemies.
It all started two years ago when I was first starting out in the criminal business and I met this girl. We fell in love and dated for almost a six months when I realized I really did love her. Little did I know, I wasn't the only one keeping her warm at night.
She was apparently Darin's fiance.
He found out about us and she swore that I led her on and bribed her into being my girlfriend. Darin got pissed beyond belief. So not only was my heart broken that day but a couple of my ribs and my leg were also.
Now, Darin has a vendetta against me and is out to make sure I suffer in every which way possible.
“No dude. Darin has nothing to do with this.” I looked at Camden still confused. We started walking again.
“You like that girl don’t you?” He sighed.
What?
“No, I just met her. Plus she's probably still in high school.” I defended. She looked young but not too young. Most likely in the twelfth grade or something.
