"If you don't hurry up your gonna be late for Catholic school!" Sonic yelled to his thirteen year old son, Tails.

He heard him groan from upstairs as he trailed from his room locking eyes with his father, Tails was angry of course. But Sonic didn't care, he needed his son to study for his first communion.

"Da-aad, why did you sign me up for this stupid school!" Tails stomped as they headed to the garage where the truck was parked.

"Miles Tails, it's not stupid," the boy's father said in an angry tone. "And I told you, you're thirteen now. The perfect age to start your holy communion."

They entered the truck now, Tails sitting in the passenger seat with his eyes furrowed and his arms crossed on his furry chest.

"Why are we so... Religious?" Tails asked, watching his father as he shoved the car key into the key hole.

"Tails, you ask me this every day" Sonic sighed, putting the truck in reverse.

"Yeah and I wanna know, why we can't we be like my friend, Knuckles, he's atheist." Tails puffed

Sonic sighed, not understanding why his son was always like this, but then again. He's only thirteen. Still a kid.

"He gets to swear, and he doesn't have to know the 'hail Mary' prayer by heart, or any prayer as a matter of fact." The orange fox boy rambled. Earning a sigh from his blue hedgehog father.

"Well, Knuckles doesn't believe in what we do." Sonic explained, eyes still on the road as they exited their neighborhood and entered town.

"Whoever said I believed in this Jesus thing."

"That's it Miles, you're grounded."

Tails halfly opened his mouth and let out a loud groan, sitting farther back into his seat he angrily said;

"That's no fair, you can't just-- UGH!"
They were already outside of the church, Tails unbuckeld his seatbelt and quickly jammed the door open and hopped out.

"I'll pick you up at 12" Sonic instructed.

"Alright, bye dad." Tails said and shut the door, walking over to the back of the church where all the Catholic classes are located.

...

Sonic walked out of church, along with all the other Catholics that attended It.

He didn't feel so good about himself, for once the things His son Tails told him really got him. It was only 11:30 but he still walked out to the back to wait for his son to finish his class.

He sat on a bench just outside of tails's class, room 208. But just unexpectedly, to the corner of his eye he saw two teenagers, a rabbit girl, with long cream colored ears, that looked no older than ten, and some other tall ebony black striped hedgehog with a cigarette in his hand.

The two didn't even notice Sonic, for their backs were turned to him. They laughed among themselves and talked to each other in low voices.

It was bothering Sonic, the fact that they looked young and they were smoking. In the back of a church.

Sonic Broke their conversation with a loud cough that caught their attention.

"Hey, you're not allowed to smoke here." They both quickly turned around, glaring at the small blue quilled boy before laughing.

''It's not like we're attending the church, faggot." The rabbit snickered, turning over to the black hedgehog.

"Didn't your parents show you it's not okay too swear?" Sonic asked a bit pissed that some kid just called him out.

"Our parents?" The striped hedgehog laughed taking a small drag from the cigarette in his hand.

"Those fakers? nah, they don't care."

They started walking up towards Sonic, he had to admit he was a bit scared. You never know what underaged teens could do to you.

And to Sonic's surprise, they only sat next to him.

"Hi I'm Cream." The rabbit introduced.

"And this edgelord is my quote on quote Brother, Shadow." She said now pointing over at the black hedgehog.

"Why do you say that?" Sonic asked, a bit worried

"Oh you know, we don't have parents." Shadow explained, not sounding at least a little sad like if not having a family is completely normal.

"What happened?" Sonic asked looking over at Cream who just shrugged.

"My mom was stupid, she was insane, she killed my dad too." Cream explained.

"I knew Shadow since I was five, I pretty much escaped to his house whenever my mom had another break down, or I felt lonely" Sonic realized how Cream's expression turned from happy to sad.

"One day I come home, from Shadow's house after a nice dinner, and I see these cops taking my mom away and I saw these bodies, dead. I didn't know what was going on. Only that moments later I found out she killed the neighbors and my dad." Cream sighed and rested her head on Shadow's shoulder.

"So I ran too Shadow's, and he basically addopted me."

Sonic sighed, looking over at the two. His opinion changed on them almost immediately. From two crazy teenagers who smoke at the back of the church, to sad orphans who smoke at the back of the church.

"I'm sorry about that kid," sonic sad sadly "god makes things happen for a reason."

"Yeah, what ever." Cream said. "I'm long over it that was like 3 years ago, i hated her anyways."

"Aren't you a little too young to smoke." Sonic finally asked getting out of topic. He never really knew how to comfort people.

"I don't smoke, I'm only ten." Cream said pointing over at Shadow who was already taking a rather long drag

"He smokes, a lot, but he's considered old enough, he's twenty-six"
He was twenty. Twenty-six years old. To sonic he looked much younger, maybe it was his red colored eyes, or his messy chestfur.

"Lemme see your phone, church boy." Shadow chuckled, patting cream's head.

Sonic Sighed and handed Shadow his phone. He just met the two and he already trusted them.

He watched as Shadow typed something into what he guessed were his contacts.

Too his surprise, he was right, Shadow quickly handed him his phone back and stood up, grabbing Cream by her wrist.

"Call me, and maybe we could hang." Shadow said and trailed off with his 'sister'. Sonic looked down on his phone and saw it was in fact a contact. This boy just took his phone and created a contact.
