When coming home Sonic went on about his day cleaning, cooking, spending time with Tails and all the usual. When he went to bed he read a little bit of the bible before getting bored and texting Shadow.

That was what his life consisted of now, a cycle that's never ending and too intimidating to change. It was always the same thing but Sonic was happy to live it. The weekends were different though, he'd go to church Saturdays and Sundays with Tails ignoring his complaints and afterwards they'd go and hang out with Shadow and do whatever he had planned. Usually it consisted of going to the park or going out to eat.

One day Sonic decided to invite Shadow to his house. The knock at the door made Sonic happily dash downstairs and drop the feather duster from his hand. Tails got there first though, swinging the door open and greeting the two.

"Hey Cream, My friend Knux just came back from his dumb vacation!" Tails exclaimed upon seeing the cream colored rabbit. "Wanna meet him? He lives just across the street!" Cream agreed and the two headed out to Tails's proclaimed friend's house.

"Looks like it's just the two of us now." Shadow said as he stepped inside.

"Yeah." Sonic laughed as he closed the door. What did boys do when they were alone anyways?

"Is it ok if i look around?" Shadow said walking into the living room.

"Oh sure go ahead," Sonic said politely as he followed him "please excuse the mess." Sonic added even though the house was practically spotless.

They walked around through the house as Sonic showed him everything giving him a proper house tour. When the tour was done Sonic had to go to the bathroom, in the living room was Shadow he noticed a small shrine in the corner of the room, Sonic always had it there for praying. He walked up to it and saw all the holy things like rosaries, candles, and pictures of god and such decorating the small table.

The ebony hedgehog picked up a rosery intertwining it in his fingers, the small cross on it dangling over his glove. He stared at it feeling a little sad. Why did Sonic have to be so... Religious?

"I see you found my shrine." Sonic said as he walked in.

"Oh yeah, it's um... Nice?" Shadow said not really sure how to complement something he didn't believe in.

"Thanks." Sonic said walking over to him standing beside him "If you don't mind me asking, what're your beliefs Shadow?"

"Nothing." Shadow blankly stated putting the rosery over Sonic's head. "I'm actually atheist,"

"Ah i see." Sonic said taking the rosery off. "I respect your beliefs Shadow."

"But i do find the concept of religion kind of intresting. All this God stuff is kind of cool."

He then set the rosery back on the shrine and picked up the bible. "That makes sense. Wanna hear a reading? I won't brainwash you or anything."

"Sure." Shadow said and walked over to the couch Sonic following after wards. He opened a reading from the second gospel and read out the story of Noah's Ark to Shadow showing his passion in these topics as he read out loud. Shadow listened watching Sonic in amusment as he read, the story was nice but listening to Sonic read was even nicer he could listen to him read all day if it meant he would hear his lovely voice.
