"Where are we going anyway?" Tails asked.

"The pizza arcade with the guy i told you about, he has a younger sister I'm sure you'd love to meet."

Tails nodded as the car ride continued listening to the song on the radio. They were in the truck now driving to their destination which was only a 15 minute drive. Sonic was excited and it sounded kind of dumb considering they were going to a pizza arcade that was meant for younger kids. Still, it meant he was gonna see Shadow whom he loved speaking with. He'd go anywhere if it meant his new friend was there.

When they arrived Sonic parked the vehicle and noticed not a lot people were there. Perfect, that meant no long lines! The two walked into the diner, the smell of pizza and the noise of excited kids filling the building. Sonic spotted Shadow and Cream sitting at a table, he waved at them and walked over.

"Sup Shadz!" Sonic greeted taking a seat next to him.

"How're ya faker." Shadow said with a smile. just like Sonic, he was happy to see him.

"Hi!" Cream chirped in an good mood as Tails sat next to her "I'm Cream."

"Hi Cream," Tails greeted looking at the younger girl's happy face "I'm Miles, but you can call me Tails."

"Alright Tails," Cream said and she noticed the boy's two tails clearly impressed. "Cool, you got two tails. Can you fly?"

"You got big ears." Tails said "can you fly?"

"No."

"Exactly."

"I like your attitude." Cream commented and grabbed his wrist bringing him with her. "Shadow, Tails and i are going to the games you got money i can borrow?"

Shadow reached into his quills and took out his wallet, he handed her five dollars and they both walked off into the arcade ready to play some games.

"I already ordered the pizza when i got here so it should be coming soon." Shadow commented breaking their silence. "By the way, thanks for bringing Tails, it's hard for Cream to make friends."

"Really, i thought with her excited attitude she would have plenty friends." Sonic said in disbelief.

"No actually, people hate her for her loud attitude."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that." Sonic said truthfully.

"It's okay, thanks to you she already has a friend, hopefully."

"Of course, my little Tails is a friendly kid. I'm a proud dad." Sonic said smiling as he spotted the two kids playing at a claw machine.

"How old is he?" Shadow suddenly asked.

"Oh, Tails? He's thirteen." Sonic answered turning his attention back to Shadow.

"Thirteen huh? So that means you got with your wife at 17?" Shadow asked with the math already in his head. "What's her name? How long have you guys been together? How did you meet?"

"Woah Shadow what's with all the questions?" Sonic laughed "This isn't some sort of qna."

"I'm sorry, I'm just highly curious about you." Shadow responded.

So sonic told him everthing, spilling everything out for the curious hedgehog. He told him about his wife, her name was Fiona, how they met in highschool and how he acidently got her pregnant on señor year. They got married at a young age thinking they had to. When Tails turned 3, they filed divorce papers not feeling the same for eachother anymore. Sonic basically won custody over Tails because Fiona didn't care about him at all, Sonic was the one who convinced her not to get an abortion after all saying how it was a sin, he was the one who cared for him more than his own mother. Fiona left Sonic for another hedgehog.

"Wow. I'm sorry you had to go through all that Sonic. You clearly didn't deserve it." Shadow said feeling so many things after hearing Sonic's story. Sympathy being a big one.

"It's okay, god makes things happen for a reason." Sonic said "besides, that's all in the past! Let's focus in the future."

"You're so positive Sonic, it's actually kinda cute." Shadow chuckled.

"Just follow the path god left out for you i always say." Sonic piped.

The two continued talking and Sonic learned more about Shadow how he ran away from his house after his sister Maria was killed and his dad thought it was him, how he met Cream going through a tough time, how he worked for the government to maintain themselves.

They stopped talking after their pizza was served to them, Sonic and Shadow had to drag the kids from the games to their table.

After they all finished eating they walked outside together and Cream hugged Tails farewell thanking him for a good time. Tails pushed Cream off flustered making the rabbit laugh.

Sonic smiled at the laughing children and he thought about hugging Shadow as well. He didn't though. They said goodbye to eachother and walked seprate paths.
