"Wait, don't leave us!" I called running after the truck. Kayla stopped the truck and rolled down her window.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"Anywhere but here". She answered.

"But we have house right here". I added.

"I am not staying in that house". She stated firmly. I guess I can understand that. Who would want to live in the same house where you and your friends were touched by a creep like Moore.

"Can we come with you?" Ashley asked.

Kayla stared at both of us for a while thinking really hard about it.

"Fine". She said. "But you two are not my responsibility, you hold your own".

Ashley smiled and nodded her head gratefully. Kayla let us hop in the smelly backseat leaving the passenger seat free.

I don't even care about shotgun anymore. If Leola isn't driving, what's the point?

Kayla started driving away from the house. We all rode in silence intill Ashley spoke up.

"Where are we going?" She asked.

"We're looking for weapons and I know somewhere we could check".

"But shouldn't we be more worried about food?" Ashley added.

"We need weapons first...so creeps like Moore can never hurt us again". The last part was spoken more to herself than to Ashley.

Kayla pulled over at a zombie infested mall. She ran over every zombie that was in our way then crashed head on into the back of the mall. Nobody was hurt.

"Everyone get out quickly and follow me!" Kayla shouted.

We all fled out the truck and followed Kayla. She was running towards a ladder that led to the top of the mall. There were dozens of zombies chasing us.

One zombies grabbed my hair. It was a male and his intestines hung out his stomach and his arm was ready to fall off.

My reflexes kicked in and grabbed the zombie's crusty hand and twisted it. It ripped off along with the arm. I turned around kicking the zombie to its knees with its arm then drop kicking him to his back. When he was on his back, I used the bone that stuck out the arm and shoved it into his eye socket.

When it died I turned and caught up with Kayla and Ashley. They had already started climbing up the ladder. When I started climbing, the zombies climbed after me so I quickened my pace.

"Come on Ozzie, you can make it!" Ashley cheered from the top of the mall. When I finally made it to the top, Ashley pulled me onto the roof while Kayla tried kicking the ladder bolts out before zombies could get to us.

Right when the first zombie head popped up, Kayla had finally kicked the ladder loose. With all the weight of all those zombies on the ladder, it bent back and stripped off the wall of the mall then fell all the way down.

Everyone sat on the hot roof for a while trying to catch their breath. I noticed there were a few dead bodies on the roof. Kayla was the first to get it together then she walked over to a big air vent and kicked it in.

"Are you guys coming or not?" Kayla said before jumping into the big vent. Ashley and I quickly followed her.

The vent had lots of space but we still had to crawl. It was also really hot and dusty. We easily caught up with Kayla who was crawling also.

All this dust was irritating my arms and getting into my eczema. Later on it'll dry up, get all itchy and ashy.

"I saw what you did out there to that zombie". Kayla said. She was talking to me. "That was pretty badass...for a little girl".
