Like lightling Ashley busted out the locker and ran towards the man. He looked up from Peter and at Ashley. She threw a quick punch at the man's stomach. He grunted and bent over clutching his stomach. Ashley punched him harder in the face making the guy fall and drop his gun. The man tried crawling to reach his gun. Ashley stepped forward and kicked his stomach making him roll over on his back groaning. She grabbed his gun and pointed it at his face.
"No Ashy don't hurt mister!" Peter cried pulling on Ashley's leg. She didn't move.
The man held his hands up in defense. He kept repeating the same thing in some other language. He finally spoke in English.
"I wasn't going to shoot the boy!" He pleaded. "I wasn't, I-I he just surprised me, that's all". "Please don't shoot".
Ashley still didn't move. Her finger tightened around trigger.
I walked over to her side. Like I said, she has no soft spot for them. She'd shoot him without regrets but something was holding her back. I know its not Peter, its something else.
I didn't know if the man was telling the truth or not. He seemed innocent by the way he was begging for his life. We should give him a chance, I don't want another person to die. Besides, she shouldn't kill him infront of Peter.
"Ashley", I called. "Put the gun down". She still didn't move. My words seemed to be going in one ear and coming out the other. I sighed and slowly took the gun away. She stuffed her hands in her pockets and kept a cold eye on the man.
The man relaxed and started speaking in that language again. I think he was thanking me. What he didn't know is that he wasn't safe yet.
I pointed the gun back at him. His thankful expression changed back into fearful one.
"I-I'm telling the truth". "I wouldn't hurt a child-
"Shut up". I commanded firmly.
"Please believe me-
"Shut up". I repeated.
He finally did. "Get up, slowly". He kept quiet and did what I said. "Face the wall and keep your hands were I can see them". When he got against the wall, I patted him down. He was clean.
I let him turn around and face us. "Please Ozzie, don't hurt mister!" Peter begged.
"I'm not going to hurt him". I said to Peter. To prove it, I tucked the gun in my pants.
The man didn't know if I was serious. Peter believed me tho and he smiled wide. Then, he hugged the man's leg. He was confused of Peter's actions but didn't question it.
Peter hugged him tightly for what seemed like forever. There was a awkward silence.
The man cleared his voice. "So...uh...will you two rob me or...?"
There was a tag at the end of the necklace he was wearing. It had a picture of himself and a few tiny words under the picture. It looked like the type someone would wear at work.
I couldn't read the words, my vision was too bad. While I thought about his tag, Ashley decided to answer the man's question.
"Hell yeah we're robbing you". "You're gonna pack all this food and stuff into our truck and if you don't we'll fill you with holes, got it?"
Peter squeezed the guy's leg tighter. "Stop being mean to him!"
"Peter get away from him!" Ashley commanded. Peter shook his head stubbornly, Ashley growled at that.
"Wait, young lady", The man said. "This doesn't need to happen, we could work something out".
Ashley growled. "Shut the fuck up, theres nothing to debate". "You're going to load all this shit up and that's final". "And suggest something else and I'll fucking kill you".
