Chapter 2

Wyatt

What was that?! Wow. Right as...whatever it was, hit me and I couldn't move. Then the stupid Principal tried to spray Caroline, but missed and hit me instead.

A Spray is an instant working drug that make you go unconscious and limp, it's mostly used to knock out someone or something. Only certain people get to have a Spray with them, apparently one of those people is the Principal.

Ow.

I have a huge headache from where the Spray hit me square in the face. I feel a bit dizzy and it's hard to think straight.

Where am I? Where's everyone? Where's Caroline?

I am in a classroom but it is empty, and I'm chained and locked to one of the desks.

My mind remembers the events, Caroline and I were running when we ran into the Principal, he stopped us and stared us down...

WAIT! I think I saw the sign in the Principals eyes! I know it, I saw it.

There is this virus that just escaped a lab in Saudi Arabia. It was put in a box on a plane to America. The plane crashed over the ocean supposedly taking the virus with it. To be safe the government had issued a warning and what the signs were if someone had it.

One of the signs were white irises.

I know I saw that when I looked at the Principal. I have to get to Caroline and tell her, and then report it. I have to get out of here somehow.

I start to think, if only I could just slip my hand out...

Clink!

"Who's there?!" I yell. "Show yourself!"

Nothing happened.

It is just your mind, Wyatt, I tell myself. Concentrate on the matter at hand.

I focus again, trying to wiggle my hand out. I glance up to see if anybody is outside the window. As I look back down something catches my eye. It was a book that was left by a student and it had moved!

I freeze staring at the book.

It is just your mind, just your mind playing with you, nobody is here and nobody was ever here.

I calm myself, then stop.

I remember the tests we were to take, one of the subjects was telekinesis, when one is able to move objects from one point to another using energy and power from the brain.

What if... NAH! It could never happen. I would have to be hooked up to the machine to do that.

I came to that conclusion when I decided, why not try and move it, just to be sure.

I stare at the book, imagining it flying up off the desk to the other one. I mentally see it rising up and moving to the desk next to it. Then, it happened.

I stare at the book, now moved onto a different desk across the classroom. I am stunned at the realization I have just come to.

I have telekinesis. That had to be the solution.

I shake myself, snapping out of the stupor I'm in.

I will have to use it to get out of here.

I look behind me to see if I can see the lock which is holding the chains. I see it and concentrate. The lock snaps in half like a twig, and I realize that it took no real effort, I just have to picture the action in my head. If I can just imagine it...
