A week later V's takeaway

"Why him?" I repeat. I've lost count of how many times I'd said those two words, filled with so much bitterness and pain that it nearly drew me to tears.

"Why?"

Jungkook looks to Jin, who gives him a small, sad nod. After V had been stolen away from us, things had drastically changed in this house.

Laughter was rare— even a smile hard to come by. Everything in this house reminded me of V, never failing to make me collapse and sob like a little baby once I got a look at them.

"Noona?" He whispers, leaning back tiredly onto the couch. "Remember when I told you about how I caused V hyung to leave? Do you remember that?"

"Yes."

"It was dangerous for him to leave— it always was dangerous for him. When V hyung was fourteen, he escaped from a League of killers and assassins called Hells Angels. You didn't really think that we were the ones who taught him those killer moves, did you?"

I had.

"That place is terrible— they made hyung kill for no reason, rip souls apart even though they did nothing wrong. That's why he left. He escaped, and Yoongi and Jin hyung found him. I was there when they did— I was only twelve then, but I still remember the look in his eyes."

A shiver runs through him, explaining what words couldn't.

"It was a look no fourteen year old should be able to make." Jungkook says darkly, the memories of his past flashing across his face as he continues.

"Back then, he was weak and malnourished. He'd been running from
the Hells Angels for some time, and he was very sensitive— very, uh, suspicious of others. When Jin hyung tried to approach him, V hyung nearly killed him that day."

Jungkook pauses for a brief second to swallow, and I see Jin slightly nod at the corner of my eye.

An involuntary shiver travels up my spine.

"If he hadn't collapsed, Jin hyung would probably be dead today."

Jungkook's fingers drum against the smooth surface of the couch as he breathes out deeply.

"Do you know why I was so scared when he left, Noona? Why I dragged him back begging for his forgiveness and crying not to do that ever again?"

Hells Angels.

Even the name sent chills tingling up my fingertips.

"They've wanted him back ever since he left them. He was dangerous out in the open— with their top trackers chasing him and hundreds of carefully trained assassins all out to return him to that hell of a place."

Jin clicks his tongue.

"Language, child."

"And now they finally have him," I breathe, tension sparking through me like electricity. For the past week I'd been going insane. I hadn't realized how much I needed V before he'd been taken from me.

He was my oxygen, and I was living without breathing.

Panic suddenly blinds my eyes as I grip Jungkook's wrist, so hard that he winces. I quickly apologize, stunned by my own strength.

"He isn't being— uh, you know. There?"

"They wouldn't treat him like that, no." Jin cuts in, his hands clasping and unclasping the round arm of the couch. "Just— probably confined and isolated. They don't want him escaping again, and they won't take risks."
