He isn't visible when I look to the direction of Heather Forests, and for a second I think that I might've been too late.
But soon, I see him, disappearing just around the corner. His shadow is unmistakable— tall figure, slender yet toned. My heart goes crazy just seeing the back of his silhouette.
With V, you could never be too careful. I remember the time at the Forest, when he'd seen me just because of a simple shift amongst the trees. He was painfully observant, and his guard must be even up even higher now because of the risk Hells Angels might catch him.
Conclusion— I had to trail him a very long, long way back, with only the slightest of him visible and even then having to hide in alleys and shadows to avoid discovery.
It would've been so much easier with anyone else.
I'm thankful that the skies are still light— I never would've dreamt of trailing him if it was dark. I'm still worrying how in the world I was going to follow him in the Forests when he surprises me, evading the woods.
To my absolute shock, he disappears into the small house just beside the edge of the trees.
The doorknob twists in my hands, and I breathe deeply as I enter the place. I'm half-expecting V to jump me— it wouldn't surprise me if he'd known all along I was after him.
But when I come in, there's nobody in there. The house is tiny— it only had one room, as far as I could see. There was no way he could be hiding either. The place was entirely bare, stripped of furniture from top to bottom.
But I'd seen him come through here with my own two eyes.
Brows drawn in confusion, I look around the house. There's nothing— and not even a trace of V.
Puzzled, I lean against the wall to think. There wasn't a back door, so there wasn't any way he could've—
I nearly shriek with shock as the wall pushes, sliding smoothly behind me to reveal a hidden pathway. The sight makes me completely freeze.
It was just like in the movies.
Before I can stop it, my heartbeat seems to run out from my control as I walk through the dark hall. On the other side, I can see a door— cracked just the tiniest bit open and impending doom.
Someone's breathing.
Hard.
Deep.
"This is only the beginning, Kim Taehyung. If you keep stepping out of line— you will not be the only one that will get hurt."
My steps get quicker as I practically sprint towards the door, my heart in my mouth and my logic behind me.
Something collides against another.
The breathing gets faster— heavier.
I reach the door in a few seconds, pressing myself up against the wooden surface. Even though all I wanted to do was to burst in there, I couldn't be rash. Being reckless only led to more pain, for both me and him.
Assess the situation.
Two men— including the leader. His face is cold and frozen as he stands over V, who is collapsed on the ground. Even though he is being submissive, I can see his eyes glinting with a dangerousness— like a bomb about to blow.
Listen— observe. Learn more.
"I always knew you would try something like this— you're too stubborn for your own good. And attempting this again will result in consequences. Must I really tell you that I've a bomb planted in the base of that house? Lives could be at expense of these— pathetic excuse for love."
