A/n: Don't eat something if it doesn't smell like it's supposed to. Happy reading!
Eventually everyone gathers in the living room, most of them still half-dazed and blinking sleep from their eyes.
V looks nervous when Jin reaches for the TV remote, flicking on the morning news channel. Besides me, I hear Jungkook groan— he clearly didn't like politics and government— he'd rather watch kids shows and Nickelodeon.
But then the urgent report the news give even catches his attention, which had the span less than a three year old.
V immediately goes taut as ice when he sees the image of the compound in a massive inferno of flames and smoke, his creation— his work. I give him a concerned glance when his hand finds mine, sweaty and nervous.
What was he so afraid of?
Yoongi's the first to break the tense silence with a gigantic burst of laughter, his eyes curving into thin crescents as he points at the burning compound.
"Ha! Got what they deserved. I knew that place would crash and burn someday— just didn't realize it would be this soon."
Jin's eyes are calculative as his gaze fixes straight into the mass of fire and death, secured by the television in front of us. He breaks his eye contact only to shift it to V, and I feel his hand growing tighter on mine.
"I recognize my work."
Jin says, stopping everyone from what they were doing.
"And I've revealed myself to exactly five people here," He says calmly, his voice deductive as his stare grows firmer on V.
"But between them, there's only one person smart and tactical enough to have copied it flawlessly and exactly."
V swallows.
Everyone does.
"V," Jin tilts his head, his hand waving at the television. The compound is still burning— the flickers of flame higher than the buildings near it. It's live television— I can see sirens and helicopters, spraying jets of water to extinguish the hungry flames.
"Amazing job."
V's grip relaxes so quickly that it makes me breathe out in a rush of relief as well. There was no doubt that every one of us thought that Jin was going to grill V— but he'd overturned our expectations.
And to even push that limit further, his lips curve into a wide smile as his face appears into full fanboy mode.
"How in the world did you manage to create that? You've seen me work only once— that's just amazing. That bomb is absolutely perfection, Kim Taehyung. Just flawless! Teach me your ways— and I'm not even joking."
"When did you even have time to do that, hyung?" Jungkook asks, clearly mystified. "I thought—"
"This morning." I answer him, nodding at V. "He came back looking like he swam in a lake of blood— thankfully none of it belonged to him."
Jin suddenly gets up, his posture stiff and straight with his face turned away from the rest of us. He holds an aura of such sincerity and seriousness that absolutely no one expects what he does next.
He starts dancing like a psychotic duck, arms flapping and jumping higher than heights any of us would only dream of getting close to.
"This is a cause for a celebration!" He declares as the rest of us watch him, utterly dumbfounded. "And there's something that never should be absent during a celebration."
