18// The Entire Universe

(A/N before we start I just I want to apologize for the delay I have been working hard in school which I will be graduating with my associates in the summer then I will be transferring to University soon and is just so tiring plus I'm a communications major so writing is all I do and I like writing, I do but like I was just so tired my hands get very cramped and my brain is a little flushed so I take some days just to rest but today I was like I can't have my readers waiting I need to get my readers something so I was so happy to actually write something today because I skip class today so I had time to rest and I missed you all and missed this book and I miss these characters I'm so happy and that I will make sure the next update is not as long and also did anyone see endgame?! Wow that movie was crazy. I'm a MCU stan so I can go on forever but let's get on with this chapter.)

Driving in the car me and Kieran, he is currently dishing out  on all the gossip that happened back the firm. Telling me one of the employees was stealing time in his department. He said it was the funny shit ever. We are currently cracking up because of the way their boss was exposing her. "Girl look, I recorded the whole thing!" He says as he pulls out his phone.
"Nooooo you didn't! You have no shame!" I glanced while driving and turning back every few seconds.

"Who you telling!" He says as we watch the funny video. After that he pulls away his phone. "How was it spending time with Mr. Sexy in Cali."
"Really great. I'm nervous though. What if his family doesn't like me?" We are on our way to his family barbecue, he says it's his mom's birthday. I feel like I will be intruding but he wants us to meet. I'm currently wearing a tribal sun dress that cuts open around my waist, sandals and have my hair wavy and added hoops. I wanna look my best. I also made his mom a cheesecake. He says she will love it.

Once we pull up and Dylan was waiting for us on the porch. He comes down and opens my door. "Hi baby, you look amazing like always." Dylan currently looks very chilled. He has a summer pattern button up which he left the first two unbutton which khaki shorts and his nike's. "You look amazing too." He kisses my cheek gave Kieran a handshake and we headed on in.

The house was beautiful. It wasn't a mansion but it wasn't tiny. As we past through he introduced me some family members as his girlfriend which left them with surprised looks on their face and then he dragged me through the back where there kids playing in the bouncy house , music on and the grilled fired up. A older women with brown hair with a white button down and khaki capris on comes over.
"Mom-" Dylan says as he grabs my cake out of my arms.
"That's where you ran off to! We were looking for you. Lyla is here." She says then focus on the cake and then me and smiles. "Who's this?"
Dylan grabs my waist and she stiffens. "Mom there is someone I want you to meet. This is Manny. The love of my life." He kisses my forehead and by now eyes are now on us.

"Can we talk inside for a second Dylan? It's lovely to meet you Mantis." Then she rushes in side, Dylan follows slowing but not before handing me the cheesecake and then giving me a peck on my lips. "Um what just happened." Kieran says. I hand him the cheesecake and sneakily follow behind them. I see them go inside a bathroom and they were pretty loud so I listen closely.

"What are you doing?" "Doing what? I'-"
"Yeah the love of your life. And how do you know that? You just got out of a relationship with the most amazing women! Which was entirely your fault. She's here by the way. Did you not listen to what I said! Lyla is here." "I don't care mom. I've moved on." "And how will you think she will feel seeing you with someone else already." "all Lyla wants for now is for me to be happy. She says so herself. We harvest no bad blood-" "I can't believe this. She's very young and not even that, she's clearly not your type." "What do you mean? How do you know what's my type."

They were silent for about five seconds before Dylan started shouting. "IS IT BECAUSE SHE's BLACK?!-" "you just never showed interest-" "I'm not having this conversation any-"
Before he could even finish I ran to the kitchen and pretended I was on my phone. I soon got a tap on my shoulders thinking it was Dylan. I've came face to face with a beautiful blonde women. "Excuse me. I have to put this potato salad in the fridge for Mary."
"Mary?" I question as she store the food in the fridge. She had on blue jeans shorts and a halter top with vans. "The birthday lady?" Innerly smacking my forehead. "Yeah I'm sorry I sound dumb. I'm a guest."
"Well you look gorgeous. I'm Lyla." She pulls out her hand and I shake it quickly shit.
"Lyla! Wow you look great." I hear Dylan says. "Baby sorry I was taking long. Had to get some air." He rushes to my side and kisses my forehead. "Lyla this is my gorgeous girlfriend Manny."
"Wow really?" She says shockingly and gives us a genuine smile. "Happy for you Dylan. Treat her right. You can only get so many second chances." She says and pat his shoulder.

"I wouldn't mess this one up for the world. She's a queen and deserves the entire universe." He then kisses my forehead.
"That's good. Now lets go out there and fun." We follow behind her and head to the backyard. Kieran was currently in the bouncy house and I decided to eat. Eating helps my anxiety.
"Here sweetie let me get your food, you look tired." His mom comes up say nicely. "Thank you."

Well I didn't expect that.
