Chapter 10
I hadn't slept for the past week due to my new discoveries, all of the friends I had made were Vampires and my brother David was a Werewolf. Not only that, but someone that was unknown to us all was out to get me, the only one who before the weekend had never believed in these kinds of things. I sat in Second class listening to our substitute Professor who we all now knew as Norman Stud. He was an average man about 5'8 or so, he was balding and his glasses looked like they had come from the 70's, he talked slowly and read over things like any other teacher would just slower; let’s just say he didn't fit his last name at all. I couldn't concentrate on what he was saying though because my mind kept wandering back to my current situation; So far this is what I knew for sure, whoever was after me was skilled and knew what they were doing and how to get away. Then there came the other fact that this person, or thing, was after me and only me; but why? I pulled on a strand of my hair and let out a silent sigh as I searched the faces of the people around me, now I knew at least 90% of this class was made up of vampire's. Amy looked over at me with an angry scowl, she was a vampire and I was certain that she could tell I knew. The bell chimed for class to be over and we all packed up our stuff and left, I was alone today because Travis and Maria had decided to go to the mountains with David, why I don't know. Elliot on the other hand had left yesterday to go speak to this counsel they had all come to tell me at some point was like their higher power. I walked through the noisy halls slowly and watched student's either leave the building or hitch a ride on the elevator to other classes. I left the building quietly and walked across the campus toward the dorm's, winter was setting in so the slight nip of cold made it almost unbearable without some kind of sweater or jacket. The grass crunched beneath my boots as I walked, all that was running through my mind before only amplified now that I was alone. Before I knew it I was falling straight on my butt, I landed with a loud thud and rubbed my back with my hand and looked at the small dew patch that caused my fall.
"Hey are you alright?" A deep voice asked beside me, I looked up and was shocked to see a face that would make the angel's weep. I nodded and pulled my bag into my lap before the man held out his hand to me, I took it and he helped me up with a smile.
"Are you alright?" He asked again, this time pulling some of my hair away from my face.
"Y-Yeah...I just wasn't paying attention to where I was going" My voice slightly stuttered, how could someone this good looking live on this planet?
“I see well you should really be careful you could have really injured yourself" He said, I couldn't help but stare. He was tall, at least 6'3 with jet black hair and eyes as black as night. His eye's searched my face, obviously he was a little un-comfortable with me starring at him.
“Oh! How rude of me, I’m Hanley White but you can call me Lee if you like" He smiled and held out his hand, I looked dumbly at it before snapping into reality and shaking his hand.
