As I walked across campus to my 8 o'clock biology class, I took in the scenery around me. The sun was steadily making its way up to the clouds. Red, yellow, and orange leaves dangled from the trees I was passing.
It was the day of All Hallows' Eve, hinting that fall was nearly over and winter was just around the corner. Oddly enough the weather wasn't cooled down too much, so I had opted to put on skinny jeans, a V-neck shirt under a cardigan, and my favorite ankle boots.
I let my mind wander a little as the fallen leaves crunched beneath my boots. I was excited for the party tonight, but I was also very nervous; one guess as to why.
I couldn't fathom why I was behaving like someone who had never experienced having a school crush before. It wasn't like I was new to the dating scene, so I didn't understand why I was acting this way. The only explanation I could come up with was that this time something was different. I still had not figured out what it was, but I was determined to find out.
My first class seemed to fly by as well as my other two classes.
I don't know if it was because it was Friday or if it was because my professors were just as giddy about celebrating Halloween tonight as we were. I was thinking it was the latter because I kid you not every professor was dressed up in costume.
I even overheard a guy in my history class say that his English professor had given out extra credit to those who walked into class in a costume. Now that's my kind of professor. You would think that if all the teaching staff were willing to walk around as zombies and superheroes all day, then they all would've done the same thing. I guess not.
"So, what are you guys dressing up as tonight?" I asked Grey and Hunter as we walked out of class.
"I'm keeping my costume a secret until tonight, but I will tell you that it shows of my great bod," Hunter smirked.
I rolled my eyes.
"Could you be any more conceited?" Erica asked tilting her head slightly.
"Not conceited just confident," he replied winking at her.
Erica shook her head, but couldn't stop the small smile that formed on her face.
I was beginning to think that she maybe had a thing for Hunter, but I could be wrong.
All three of us turned our heads towards Grey to hear his answer.
"I won't be dressing up."
"Awe, why not?" Erica asked.
Grey shrugged and adjusted his backpack strap higher onto his shoulder.
"No real reason other than I just don't want to dress up."
Hunter walked up to Grey and threw his arm around his shoulders.
"My boy here is a kill joy."
Grey glared at Hunter, but Hunter continued.
"I tried my hardest to convince him to change his mind, but the stick up his ass just wouldn't budge."
Grey shrugged out from under Hunter's arm.
"And on that note, I'm late for class. I'll see you guys tonight."
He then turned around, leaving us to watch as he walked into his class.

It was nearing eight at night and Erica and I were in our room eating some late dinner before we decided to get ready for the Halloween party.
