Chapter 8

"Weird." Bonnie says to Damon.
"When did they become closer?" She nods towards Kai and Hope, who are walking ahead of them.
After they found out about Hope, they decided to head back.

"Don't know." Damon shrugs.

"You alright?" Kai asks carefully, walking next to Hope with his hands in his pockets.

"don't know." She mumbles and kicks a rock on the ground.

Kai awkwardly bites his lip and looks to the left.

"Are you still thinking about your mother?" Kai asks curiously.

"Yes..." she answers.

"Do you hate her?"

"Nooo. Why do you ask that?"

"Well she kept from you." Kai says.

"It was for me." Hope frowns.

"Huh." Kai says and stares at the ground.

"What?"

"Nothing." He says with a fake smile.

"Say it." Hope demands.

"I just kind of wish that my mother would have done the same." He says and scratches the side of his head.

Hope gives him a small smile and puts her hand on his shoulder.

"I wish there wouldn't even be a reason for siphons to fear their own coven." She says and Kai gives a small nod.

"The first years of my siphon life, I was telling myself that once I was leader, I would off the siphon exile." Kai says shaking his head.

"Why did you stop thinking like that." Hope asks and they already can see the Parker house.

"There was my father for instance, who started having kids again. You see, in our coven, twins are the ones to be heir of leadership. They merge, it's an magical mental fight for live and death. The stronger overpowers the weaker and becomes the leader. He was working for a new set of twins. He stoped seeing them as his children but thought of them more like failed science projects. And once my mom also gave up on me i knew I would get back at them one day." Kai says. "I think she hated me because I was the reason that she was treated as a baby-Maschine. Eventually she died 'cause her body was just to weak." He ads.

"And, do you hate her?" Hope asks hesitantly.

Kai doesn't answer right away and seams like he is thinking about it.
"No...I guess." He says after a while and Hope smiles.

They walk up the steps of the porch but Damons voice stops them.

"So what's the plan now?" He calls from a short distance. Hope shrugs and Kai looks at everyone.

"I feel like it's time to head back." He ads. "I miss my bourbon."

Bonnie and Hope roll their eyes and Kai scratches his neck.

"I could fly us back." He offers.

"As if I would entrust my life in your flying skills." Bonnie grumbles.

"I've practiced it for years. There is no danger in it. I only crashed like 5 times but now I got the swing of it." Kai grins goofily.

"And what about my car?" Damon asks.

"You could always drive back alone." Kai smirks just to piss him off.

When Damon goes to say something snarky, Hope steps in.
