Chapter 12

Liv walks down the stairs and notes how no one really stoped what they were doing. Kai steps behind her and raises his eyebrow.

"What? I put an cloaking spell on us when I took your magic. What do you hold me for? An airhead??" He says, knowing what she's thinking.

Liv scrunches her nose at his slang.
"Dude You're so old." She concludes and walks to get her stuff.

They walk out and get into livs rusty old car.

"You sure this thing will not crumble on us?" Kai jokes and Liv rolls her eyes at his comment.

"Josephin never once left me hanging." Liv tells him referring to her trusty car.

"Sorry, I just gaged." Kai says and Liv ignores him.

They arrive at the campus hospital and walk to the information check point.

"Hey, i was looking for dr. Laughlin." Liv tells the girl at the desk while Kai stays back.

"Uhm give me a second....she is in examination room 5 on the second floor. But she has a patient right now so you'll have to wait." The Girl tells her and Liv nods.

"Thanks." She walks to the elevator, Kai tagging along.

In the elevator Kai rubs his palms on his jeans making Liv raise an eyebrow at him.

"Nervous." He explains. "Haven't seen sissy since...well since I stabbed her in the spleen and got screwed over after." He ads with a short, shaky smile.

Liv shakes her head and rolls her eyes.

"You know, at some point your eyes will get stuck in the back of your head if you keep on rolling them this often." Kai tells her.

"What ever." She spits back just as the doors ding open.

They step into the hallway and walk down the corridor to room 5.

They lean against the opposite wall and wait. Not more than five minutes later the door opens.

"Don't forget to ask for your prescription when you get downstairs. Feel better soon." A woman with dark hair and a white gown says while stepping out without looking. 'Josette' Kai notes.

Liv pushes off the wall nervously and Kai puts on a smug smirk.

Jo closes the door behind her and turns to the corridor. Her breath gets stuck in her throat when she sees the two people on the other side of the door.

"Hey Jo." Liv says, her mouth gone dry.

"What is he doing here?!" She hisses. "How is he out?!" She ads.

"HE, can actually hear you." Kai says bemused.

"Shut up!" Jo spits with venom. "You're not supposed to be here!"

"Why? Cause you locked me up for 18 years? Thought I'd never get out?" Kai mocks. "I must say sissy, the years haven't done you any good." He smirks.

"Jo, please." Liv tries but jo is already setting off to walk away.

Kai grabs Liv's wrist and a pain shoots up her arm as he siphons her.

"Motes." He mutters and Josette is pulled towards them.

He takes her jaw in his hand and holds her in place.

"O no. You don't get to run away this time. Invisique." He says darkly.

Liv tears her wrist out of his grip and rubs it with her other hand.

Kai takes Josette by the neck and drags her towards the elevator.
