(Ethan's pov)

My window made a loud rattle when Jesse slammed it. I flinched at his force.

"That little fucker is back?" Jesse seethed

"Um yes?" I squeaked
"He said something about Benny and I helping him out."

Jesse's anger grew more and more.

"I told him to never come back. I told him. I told him. If he ever showed his face again I would.."

"Jesse? Is everything okay?" I asked cutting him off

He looked at me with an unrecognizable gaze. Hurt? Fear? Anger? All three? His look sent unpleasant shivers down my spine.

Jesse firmly gripped my shoulders and looked me dead in the eyes "Ethan," he said slowly "do me a favor, don't trust Rory." He said

I was shocked Rory was my friend. He was part of our OG 3.
"Why?" Was all I could muster.

"He did something that was unforgivable. I can't really talk about it because you know vampire business. But do yourself a favor and don't talk to him."

"I know Rory. He may not be the brightest person but he would do something to hurt people. He isn't like,"

" I know your defending your friend and that you are boldly loyal to your friends but you are being blinded loyal to someone you thought you knew," He said "Look I'm not going to fight you on this any longer but if does happen to approach you again you come straight to me. Got that?"

I looked at him in disbelief. Blindly being loyal to someone I thought I knew? Who does he think he is? He isn't my friend.

"Got it?" He repeated impatiently

He has never cared about me. So why would he all of a sudden start caring now? My gut was screaming at me to believe and trust him but I really couldn't do that to myself or to my friends. I mean he tried to kill me last time and not to mention that he-

"Got it?" He repeated annoyed

I rolled my eyes and nodded.

"God your just like Benny"
He said

"What?" That threw me off "How are we same?" I barked at him.

"Well for one Benny is nicer than you are." I glared at him "You both take forever to make up your mind about something. You both pace around when thinking. Oddly enough you both have the same Game of thrones nerdy stuff."

My glare deepened. He has been in Benny's room more than once. He has been hanging around him a lot to know the name of his favorite show.

"Calm down I'm not after Benny. Although he is kinda cute..."

"Back off Jesse" I growled

"Touchy subject I see. But like I said I'm not interested in him. "

"Ethan? Are you okay? Is there someone in your room?" My mom said through my door

"I'm fine mom! I... I'm just on speaker phone with a friend that's all."

"This early in the morning?" She questioned. Jesse snickered. I rolled my eyes. As if we would ever be friends.

"Well, finish up you have to be at school in a few hours. Remember you have yearbook and chess and ouu don't forget to go to Mr. Lachely's office for summer work course work. Also-"

"Got it mom thanks!" I yelled sarcastically.

Jesse smiled to himself as if he just told himself an inside joke.

"I swear you and Benny man..." he chuckled to himself

"Just get out" I glared

"Fine, fine but just remember if you see Rory.."

"Call you" I finished

He gave me a stupid smirk and vanished out the window.
