She's Awake

Mac had been by Mia's bedside for 5days and she hadn't woken yet, Stella had been in New York for 4days they were beginning to worry she wouldn't wake. It was the 6th day Stella had returned to her hotel room the nurse came in again "Detective, maybe you should go home" Mac shook his head "I'm not leaving until she's woke up" the nurse smiled "we'll call you" "no" the nurse smiled "the blood transfusion was successful and she should wake within the next couple of hours" Mac nodded.

Stella arrived at the hospital she told Ross she wasn't leaving New York until Mia had woken up and he understood. When she got to Mia's room she saw Mac and knew he hadn't been home "Mac I thought you were going home?" Mac looked up at Stella "I can't leave her" Stella sighed "do you remember when Claire told you about Reed?" Mac nodded he knew

what she was on about "yeah"

Mac had just gotten Mia up before he went to work he took her into Claire who had just made her breakfast he carefully handed her to Claire who had put her in the highchair "Mac I need to speak to you" Mac looked at her and nodded "8years ago I had a son" Mac looked at her "what happened to him?" Claire sighed "I gave him up for adoption, I wasn't ready for a baby" Mac nodded and looked to Mia who was giggling at a pigeon at the window "I'll get her dressed and take her with me to the lab" Claire nodded and watched Mac.

Mac had arrived at the lab with Mia toddling in front when she saw Stella "Mia" Mia walked over to her and Stella puck her up "how you doing munchkin" "cold" Stella smiled and hugged her "where dada?" Mac took Mia off of Stella and took her in the office 'keep on eye on her for a second? I need to get her stroller" Stella nodded and Mac set Mia down and went to fetch her stroller. While Mac was gone Flack came in "look!" Stella looked up and saw Flack "hey" Mia walked over to him "up" Flack puck her up "has Stella kidnapped you?" Mia nodded "where dada?" Stella knew if she wasn't around Mac then she would cry "he'll be back soon, he's gone to get your stroller" Mia wasn't satisfied and started crying "I wants him" Stella took Mia from Flack "I wants my dada" Mac walked in and heard her "Mia?" Mia saw Mac and held her arms out for him "I misseds you" Mac smiled he knew she was tired.

Once Mac had put Mia down for a nap he decided to ring Claire

Claire - Hey

Mac - hey, how's work?

Claire - boring, I wanna be with my baby

Mac - she's asleep

Claire - wake her up for me

Mac - no chance, I think she's coming down with something

Claire - aw, I'll stay home with her tomorrow

Mac - let's see how she is first

Claire - ok, I best get back meeting

Mac - see you later

Mac looked to Mia in her stroller and smiled, Stella walked in "hey, so we've got a lead on Michael Carson" Mac nodded "ok" Stella sighed "Mac, he's committed another murder" Mac sighed "we need to catch him, before he kills another child" Stella nodded "I know" she turned to Mia "she alright?" Mac nodded "she keeps saying she's cold" "she needs warm hugs" Mac laughed "I would say wake her but she's a grump when she's woken up" Stella grinned "like Claire" Mia woke and started crying "she's up" Mac got Mia out her stroller and attempted to settle her "I wants moma" Mac sighed when Mia was ill she always wanted Claire "Mac, take her home I'll look after this place" Mac nodded.

Mac had put Mia on the couch with her blanket when Claire came in "hey" Mac smiled at her "she's not well" Claire went over to her "Mia you okay baby?" Mia shook her head "me poorly" Claire smiled "you want cuddles with momma?" Mia nodded and Claire scooped her into her arms "I'm gonna go back to the lab" Claire nodded "bye dada".

Mac was still watching Mia when her hand moved "Mia?" She opened her eyes Mac smiled "hey sleepyhead" Mia looked confused "what happened?" "You were in an explosion, you've been in a coma" Mia nodded and Stella came in "she's awake?" Mac nodded "hey Mimi" Mia smiled at Stella "Ellie? She was" Mac interupted her "Ellie's fine, she only had a broken arm and cuts" Mia sighed "there's a needle in my arm, I want it out!" Mac shook his head "you've had a blood transfusion" Mia rolled her eyes "again? Really" Mac nodded "when am I getting out of here?" "As soon as you're ready" Mia looked up and frowned "Aubrey?" Aubrey smiled "hi Mac, Mia" Mia grinned Aubrey was one of her dads girlfriends she liked "I've just been assigned to look after you" Mia grinned even more "yay".

It was another 2days until Mia was allowed home and she was waiting for Mac, when he finally arrived she grinned "I've been here for a week, I'm losing the will to live" Mac smirked "come on, we're gonna pop into the lab, everyone wants to see you" Mia grinned "cool" "and Reed's there" Mia lost her grin she didn't mind having an older brother but he was annoying.

When they got to the lab Ellie came over to Mia her arm in a green cast "OMG! Never leave me again" Mia rolled her eyes "I'm sorry next time I'll choose a different park to get blown up in" Ellie grinned the team came over to Mia and hugged her and the Reed came "hey little sis" Mia rolled her eyes "I'm not little I'm like 10inches smaller then you" "exactly small" "yeah yeah".
