A Fire

Mia was bored in school, she had worked out the cheerio's routine at least 3 times. She was currently sat in English with Alice "Mia, I think we need a bigger better routine for the cheerio's we've done the same one at least a dozen times" Mia sighed "I know, I'm running low on ideas" Alice frowned "what about getting a co-captain?" Mia shrugged "could do, but don't you and Ellie get thinking because you're both my bezzie's you get it" Alice grinned "wouldn't dream of it" Mia smirked "Amelia, Alice less of the chat and continue with your work" Mia rolled her eyes but did as she was told.

Mac had just returned from a crime scene which shook him, it was the murder of a 15year old girl and it reminded him of Mia, sighing he remembered when Mia was 2 and someone was hurting toddlers

!FlashBack!

Mac was sat in his office when Stella came in pale "Stella?" Stella looked at Mac "we're needed at a crime scene" Mac stood and followed Stella "why you looking pale?" Stella sighed "the victim, she's a two year old baby girl" Mac paled and thought of his daughter who was asleep at home.

Arriving at the crimescene Mac saw why Stella was upset the little girl was lying on the ground covered in blood "we're gonna find the son of a bitch who did this" the team then got to work collecting the evidence.

When they got back to the lab Mac was fuming he hated people who hurt children but it made him determined to find the sicko who did it and keep his baby girl safe, sitting his chair he decided to call Claire and speak to Mia -

((Phonecall))

Claire - Mac, is everything okay?

Mac - yeah is Mia awake

Claire - yeah you wanna speak to her ?

Mac - yeah

Mia - daddy

Mac - Mia, you okay

Mia - yes I is watching teles with mommy

Mac - what you watching?

Mia - cartoons, can yous come puts me to bed please

Mac - yeah

Mia - thank yous daddy

Mac - pass the phone back to mommy

Mia - okay

Claire - she seems excited

Mac - she wants me to put her too bed

Claire - you gonna?

Mac - yeah, I'll be there soon

((Phonecall))

Mac stood and went to leave the lab when Stella came up to him "where you going?" "Put Mia to sleep" Stella nodded knowing this case was hard on Mac.

When he got home he saw Mia sitting by the front door "Mia? What you doing?" "I is waiting for yous" Mac kneeled down and puck her up and hugged her close "right shall we get you settled for bed?" Mia nodded "wait I needs my bunny" Claire came into the hallways with Mia's bunny "thank yous mommy" Claire smiled "night baby". Mac had taken Mia into her room and settled her into the crib he watched her fall asleep hugging her bunny Mac smiled knowing she was safe.

The case had been going on for a few days and 3more children had been killed and Mac was getting impatient when Stella came in "Mac, Flack just got a call, saying that someone's been spotted with a little girl who matches the description of a girl who was reported missing 2days ago" Mac stood and left the office.

They had finally caught the person who had been hurting the children. It took everything Mac had not to hurt the sicko who did this.

Michael Winters was sat in the interrogation when Mac and Stella walked in "ahh, I'm assuming you're both going to play good cop/bad cop" Mac glared at him while Stella sat down "why did you do it? Why did you hurt those innocent little girls?" Michael actually looked sad "its sad how people who don't deserve those little girls have them and my little girl was taken from me" Mac frowned "your little girl?" Michael looked at Mac "I lost my daughter 6months ago a heart condition, it broke my heart and seeing those people with their daughters and treated them horribly, I'd rather they were safe away from evil parents" Mac sighed "the thing is those little girls didn't deserve to die" "they did, they're safe now, I know you have a daughter, she's two right?" Mac nodded "take care of her detective don't let anything happen to her".

!FlashBack!

Mia was walking through the hallways when she smelt smoke frowning and the fire alarms went off so Mia made her way to the exit.

"Mac, there's a fire at Mia's school" Mac stood and left the office determined to get to Mia.

Arriving at the school he saw the place engulfed in flames "Mia?" "Dad" Mac turned and saw Mia and let out a sigh of relief "you okay?" Mia nodded when her phone rang getting it out she saw it was Ellie -

(Phoneall)

Mia - Alice?

Alice- I'm stuck in the bathroom

Mia - what? Which one?

Alice - by homeroom

Mia - stay there, I'm coming

(Phonecall)

Mac looked at Mia and saw she was planning something "Mia?" "Alice, she's trapped I need to get her out" "no its too dangerous" "dad she's my friend! I'm not just gonna her burn" "you're not going in there" "you can't stop me" "watch me" Mia glared "Stella?" Mac turned and Mia ran into the building "MIA!".

Mia couldn't see where she was going "Alice? Alice where the flipping hell are you?" "Mia" Mia heard Alice's voice and walked towards it "Alice come on" "I'm in the bathroom" Mia nodded and walked towards where the bathroom. The smoke was getting blacker and Mia could hardly see where she was going she eventually saw the bathroom entering she saw Alice "come on Alice this place looks like its gonna explode soon" Alice nodded and the girs began to walk out the building before it either collapsed or exploded.

Mac could do nothing but watch as his daughter ran into a burning building to rescue her friend "Mac where's Mia?" "She ran back in to help her friend" Jo paled "that building isn't safe" "I know" Mac was getting worried as Mia hadn't come back out yet.

Mia and Alice were inhaling too much smoke and it was getting harder to stay awake "Ali come on" "Mia, its too hard to go on" "look we're nearly there, just try" Alice nodded and continued the girls screamed when some of the building collapsed "Ali we need to get out now".

Mac was growing impatient all he wanted was Mia out of the building and safe in his arms "Mac!" Mac looked to Jo who was pointing looking to where she was pointing he saw Mia lying on the floor "Mia!" He ran over "is she alright?" "You are?" "Her father" the paramedic nodded "she has smoke in her lungs and she needs to get to hospital as soon as possible"
