as this is a book about mental health, i figured that i should provide a list of resources. they are categorized below, into hotlines, apps (that i have used), and links/blogs (that i refer to). additionally, if i have any wrong or missing information, please let me know. i will keep adding on to this as i discover more.

⤿clearfear (available on ios): this app was developed in order to find ways to manage anxiety. the app description states: "Developed by a clinician co-collaboratively with young people, Clear Fear uses a Cognitive Behavioural framework to help you change anxious thoughts and emotions, alter anxious behaviors, and calm fear responses.
It also has helpful descriptions of the different ways in which anxiety shows, resources and a grit box to boost resilience.
It is recommended for the ages of 11-19 years but can be used by a younger group with the support of a parent or carer."⤿calmharm (available on ios): this app was developed in order to find ways to help resist or manage urges for self-harm. the app description states: "The app then provides you with four categories of tasks to help you surf the urge. 'Distract' helps in learning self-control; 'Comfort' helps you care rather than harm; 'Express Yourself' gets those feelings out in a different way and 'Release' provides safe alternatives to self-injury. There is also a 'Breathe' category to help calm and get back in control.
You can do the activities for either blocks of five minutes or fifteen minutes with a countdown.
Calm Harm has been developed by teenage mental health charity stem4 by Dr. Krause, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, using the basic principles of an evidence based treatment called Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT)."ʟ ɪ ɴ ᴋ s / ʙ ʟ ᴏ ɢ s
⤿7cups.com is an online therapy website, but it also gives you opportunities to make progress with your mental health. if you ever need someone to talk to, this is the place to go. i've been using it for some time now and it's been helpful.
⤿thequietplaceproject.xyz lets you do a 90 second meditation exercise which is really nice when you just want to clear your mind momentarily.
⤿heartinme.tumblr.com is an advice blog, where the creator (named sophie) answers your questions, anonymous or not, and is there to provide comfort when necessary.
⤿the-suicide-effect.tumblr.com is also an advice blog. the creator (catherine) offers more mental health advice as opposed to just comfort if needed. catherine also has a youtube channel where she touches upon many issues regarding mental health. the channel name is 'TheSuicideEffect'
⤿randomreasonstolive.tumblr.com as obvious as it sounds, is a blog where the creators use their own words as well as guest submissions of reasons to live. it is very heart-warming, and i try to do some reasons to live in this book as well.
⤿chibird.com is NOT an advice blog, it is a blog with mini comics that artist jacqueline chen draws. they are very cute and consist of motivational messages.

i will definitely add on some more others as i continue to explore the internet. a note for the links is that they cannot be copy-pasted into the url bar, but can be typed instead.
i really hope these resources can be of use; they have definitely helped me as well.
remember to stay hydrated, eat some food, and get some sleep!
