It was Friday afternoon and Calum, Ashton and me were sitting on the grass at the school's 'garden'. They called it the garden because there was a huge lawn, but there weren't any flowers or something that made it look like a garden. We were talking about Ms. Roberts, our math teacher until Calum decided to ask me a question.
'So do you want to come to our Friends Friday?', Calum asked me.
'What's that?', I asked him.
'Well we play some dumb video games and eat some pizza and have a sleepover at Ash his house', he shrugged.
'Hey my video games aren't dumb!', Ashton protested.
'You better shut up Irwin, we both know that you suck at Grand Theft Auto', Calum laughed.
'I do not', Ashton fake pouted.
I had to laugh at their childishness. But I do like Grand Theft Auto, who doesn't like that game?
'So do you want to come?', Calum asked me again. 'Who wants to come?', the voice that I recognized all too well suddenly spoke up behind me. I turned around and Luke was standing above us, his eyes looking as blue as the sky in the sunlight.
'We just asked Mikey if he wanted the come to our Friends Friday', Ashton smiled. I blushed at the nickname and smiled. But that smile didn't last too long when Luke looked angrily at me. 'Why did you even think of inviting the freak?', Luke spat. Not this again, I thought.
'What is your problem Luke?! Michael is our friend and he has the right to come this evening!', Ashton said furiously. Luke looked even more angry with Ashton his sudden outburst and I swear at that moment that his gaze could kill. Why was he so angry with me all the time? What have I ever done wrong to him?
'You can come today Mikey, don't care too much about what Luke says', Calum said, completely ignoring Luke who was still standing like a helpless giraffe above us. 'Okay', I smiled. Calum and Ashton looked happy that I could come so I smiled too, because it felt fine to finally have friends.
'Are you willing to sit with us or are you going to stand there forever because you're feeling too good for us?', Ashton asked Luke. Luke just looked angrily at us but slowly made his way to the place were Calum sat and he sat down on the grass.
'You know freak, that grass looks like your hair', Luke spoke up. 'But your hair looks uglier than the grass', Luke grinned. 'Wow you're so funny', I fake smiled. Ashton and Calum just sighed because they didn't hope for any progress in our 'relationship'.
'Why do you even dye your hair?', Luke asked. 'That's so gay', Luke laughed. 'Well at least I have the guts to do it', I smiled. He remained silent after that.
'You know Michael, I actually think your hair looks awesome', Calum genuinely smiled. 'Thanks', I blushed. 'I think about getting a blonde streak, do you know a place where they can dye your hair?', Calum asked me.
'Not you too!', Luke exclaimed.
'Well I don't really know a place here since I'm not here that long, but maybe we can search one tonight?', I replied to his question, completely ignoring Luke his rude comment.
To be honest, I was already used to it. This guy just couldn't pass a day without making a rude comment. I've been 'friends' with him since Monday and he just takes every single chance to say something about my hair, clothes, eyes, face and even my handwriting!
'Yeah we can do that!', Calum said happily. 'It would look great on you', Ashton smiled. 'Thanks', Calum looked really happy with the nice comments he got from me and Ashton. I thought he really would look great with a blonde streak, it would give him a cool attitude. Everybody was fine with it except for Luke, but hey who cares about Luke? If he still wants to be the asshole then that's not my problem.
'So tonight at my place?', Ashton asked. 'Yeah, around seven?', Calum asked. 'Okay, be there at seven, we can give you our phone numbers so I can text you my address and if you need to ask something just text or call us', Ashton smiled.
'Okay can you give me your phone number?', Calum asked. I gave them my phone number and last but not least, I gave Luke my phone number. He couldn't resist to hiss an almost silent 'don't think I will ever text you', in my ear and I just replied with 'who said I want a text from you?' to shut him up.
'I'm so happy that you guys like each other', Ashton said sarcastically. 'We do not like each other!', me and Luke said at exactly the same time. 'Wow easy, you guys just don't understand my sarcasm that is on point of course', Ashton chuckled. 'Sure', Luke muttered and stood up. 'Well see you at seven', he said and just muttered an almost silent 'weirdo', obviously directed to me. 'Bye dipshit', I smiled.
The bell rang and we all stood up, ready for our next classes. Luke hadn't been really friendly this week, but I just ignored him or said something back that would make him shut up. At least Calum and Ashton were friendly.
My mom did know about Calum and Ashton, but I didn't tell her about luke. At least the other people didn't bully me or call me names. Well not in front of me, but I'm sure that they talk behind my back of course. In my previous school they didn't care if I stood in front of them, they just said what they wanted. And those words hurt, they still hurt. But maybe Calum and Ashton could make things better. And maybe even Luke, because you never know what to expect, isn't it?
