We walked to the bar, but I couldn’t read the sign above quickly because Lionel dashed in straight away. I hurriedly followed her in and we searched and asked people if they knew him and we kept at that until the sun set. We finally gave up, we went to sit under a tree and watched the line where heaven touched earth then a shadow loomed before us, I looked up to find a six feet tall man with a recently shaved beard and a powerful looking sword behind him.
“I heard you girls were looking for someone?” he said with a low, calm voice
“Umm yeah, yeah we are looking for crow” said Lionel
“Hmmm let me see I know a guy with a name like that and you’re in luck!”
“Really?” I said with confusion
“Yep because you’re staring at him” crow said with pride “how it is been Red, I hope you haven’t forgotten me”
I just sat there, mouth and eyes wide open “your, uncle crow?”
“This…was unexpected” said Lionel as shocked as me.
We spent the night at crow’s house though it smelt like alcohol, but it was still good to be back in a soft bed. I woke up early morning, Lionel was still in bed and so was crow, so I decided to make breakfast then get everything sorted out.
Lionel woke up then crow, we all had breakfast, the silence still went on until Lionel didn’t hesitate to break it. “Are you a huntsman?”
“Yes, I am” he said while trying to stuff his mouth with probably the best breakfast he’s ever had.
“Umm uncle crow can I ask you something?”
“Yeah go ahead”
“Well…Can you eat slowly first, or you’ll choke”
He looked at me as if I was crazy “I am happy that you care about my health but trust me I won’t choke on this stu--!” he started choking.
“Oh, he’s choking” said Lionel as if she was expecting it.
“WA-T-ER!” he motioned for the sink
I quickly ran to the sink, filled a cup and gave it him. He gulped it down instantly then slammed the glass cup on the table. “Don’t-say-it” he said threating me lightly
“I—”
“I said don’t”
“I told you so”
He sunk down and started sulking and Lionel was snickering and almost laughed when crow heard it and gave her the death stare then she shut up but was laughing on the inside.
“I am sorry; now can we get to the questions” I said a little irritated, but he didn't stop
“Ok uncle crow stop sulking you have a lot of questions to answer”
“All right fine” he said pouting
Uncle crow seems more of a kid than an adult. “I want to know why my sister told me to come to you if anything happened”
“Well she told me to send you to a training school to become a huntress then attend beacon academy to become a full-fledged huntress but how old are you?”
“Ugh why does everyone need to know…I am ten.”
Lionel just remembered that I was young even though I was quite tall, and crow looked happy.
“Well that’s just perfect! You will have years of training”
“What do you mean?” I said curious
