The Downfall

That feeling when your heart drops.

When you're confused in thoughts.

All the battles you've fought

Seems to be all the wars you've lost.

Hesitation seems to be all you know.

Confidence and pride becomes low.

Every night the tears flow,

And you seem to have lost all hope.

You're told you're beautiful, but don't believe.

And the world is no longer how you perceived.

Because of yesterday, tomorrow you're afraid to see.

You're no longer the girl who chases her dreams.

Instead you become this innocent child who clings too much

And is terrified to go out and test her luck.

Peers look at you and wonder what the fuck

Happened to you, it's obvious all the joy has been sucked.

You look in the mirror and question who it is

And begin to do things you never did.

The snakes came and now they fled,

And you're stuck to clean up all the blood you bled.

So what happened to your ride or die?

Did they finally leave your side?

Was it lack of loyalty or pride?

Were they too prideful to let shit slide?

They don't stick around too long.

You get less call and texts to your phone.

This is the feeling of being let down by the one you love,

But I just don't understand why the lovers can't be loved.
