Selina sat alone in the palace while she waited for Claire to return. She didn't understand why Claire felt the need to be nice to Aden, since he was a complete jerk to them.
Selina felt the palace slightly shake, just ever so slightly. She got up and walked peacefully outside. Nothing seemed to phase her anymore. Strange sounds and movements happened a lot in this universe. Now it just seemed like a natural occurrence to her.
She opened the palace doors. A huge smile spread across her face. Standing there ever so awkwardly was Aster. His eyes met with hers, along with a crooked smile on his face.
"Uh hi" he said awkwardly, giving her a small wave.
Selina jumped down the steps and into his arms. Aster stepped back as she collided with him, being forced out of his stance, but he quickly regained his balance. Her arms wrapped around his neck, hugging him tightly. His face became very hot. He couldn't help but notice how great she smelled. His legs felt weak, but he held himself up tall.
Slowly, he placed his arms around her, returning her hug.
"I'm so happy to see you!" Selina exclaimed, backing up away from him.
He looked at her, his eyes wide. He tried to make his face cool down, trying to make the redness go away before she noticed how nervous he was. Yeah, because I'm totally cool whenever I'm around her, he thought.
"I noticed... I actually came to make sure everything was okay. I sensed something, but the stars were foggy."
Selina shook her head. "Nope! Nothing bad has happened."
Claire and Aden made their way past them. Aden sat himself down slowly on the palace steps, being sure not to harm his chest.
Aden's eyes met with Aster's. "What's with goldy locks?"
Selina clenched her hands, making them into fists. She bit her lip, trying to hold in her anger.
Aster stared at Aden. "Aden?"
Aden laid down on the stairs, placing his hands behind his head to protect his head from the hard ground.
"You don't remember me... Do you?" Aster asked, slowly walking toward Aden.
It cannot be...
"Pretty sure I'd remember you twinkle" Aden said, not seeming to care about Aster's interest in him.
"Enough with the names, jerk!" Selina yelled, her anger escaping through her lips.
Aster sat down beside Aden. He looked at his forehead. There was the rose scar, just as he remembered it. He didn't remember Aden much, just vague images from his childhood that were stored into his memory.
"I have not seen you in years. You look... Different."
"Strange, I've looked this way for as long as I can remember" Aden replied, opening his eyes to glance at Aster with a smirk.
Claire and Selina stood back and watched them. They didn't know what was going on, and they believed that Aden didn't either. The only one who seemed to know anything was Aster.
"Maybe I mistook you for someone else" Aster said, his eyes still focused on the rose scar.
He was obviously lying. Even though he was a child at the time, he always remembered the rose scar. He remembered playing with Aden. They were basically inseparable. Aden used to make his rose scar light up many different colors and when he did, he was able to do some cool tricks with it.
