Aden woke up feeling calm which was unusual for him. He actually had slept through the night for once, not waking up to nightmares or to terrors that lurked around the grounds.

He stretched, letting out a loud yawn while doing so.

    "Good morning Aden."

He turned around to see Claire. It was early, yet she already looked so put together. Her hair was done up in a braid, flowers woven through the strands. Her pink eyes were bright and alert. She was wearing a pink halter top with pink shorts.

    "Good morning."

He got up and put his holster tightly onto his hip. He placed Anubis back into its resting spot on his hip. He didn't feel content without his blade against him. He started to have a bit of an uneasy feeling settling within him but he pushed it aside as he walked over to meet Claire.

"You look. Uh... Decent" Aden said with a grin.

    Claire laughed. "Thanks I guess."

They walked the palace halls together until they reached the back door. Claire sat down on the steps, her usual spot. Aden looked at her a bit puzzled, then sat beside her.

She sat looking at the flowers in the breeze. She loved watching them and spent a lot of her time out here. Aden just stared at her, watching her. She seemed very peaceful and focused.

    She's beautiful isn't she?

Claire looked over at him and smiled. "Sorry I just really enjoy the fields"

    "No need to apologize."

He continued to watch her. She felt him staring and tried to focus on the flowers, but she could feel her face getting warm again. She really wanted to be able to actually communicate with him without looking like a fool, but she really didn't want him to see her blushing like she does.

He moved a bit closer to her, amazed by her focus. He tended to have trouble with the whole calm and focused thing. It amazed him that someone who didn't even know how to use her power could throw off energy like she did.

She looked over at him. His face was pretty close to hers. His eyes were wide as he stared at her. Her heart beat rapidly. It felt like it was going to burst out of her chest. Her stomach began to feel sick. That butterfly feeling everyone always talked about.

"Your focus amazes me" Aden said softly, trying not to disrupt her too much.

She smiled awkwardly. He smirked that bad boy smirk that he seemed famous for showing.

"I'm kind of all up in your business" he said laughing slightly.

"Kind of" Claire returned, laughing along with him.

Aden never heard her laugh a real laugh. He had been alone for as long as he remembered, so hearing anyone laugh was refreshing. He wasn't accustomed to happiness. He didn't remember his past, he only felt hatred and abandonment arise when he tried to remember anything.

"You have a beautiful laugh" he said, his face returning to a serious one.

    Claire blushed. "Thank you."

They sat silently for a while, neither knowing what to say. The silence wasn't awkward. It felt right. They were beginning to feel comfortable. Claire was able to complete a sentence easier than the day before. She was feeling safer with him, even in this short of a time.

He stretched, feeling so calm and relaxed that he felt tired. He laid down vertically on the step that he and Claire were both sitting on and rested his head on her lap.
