"How much longer are we going to spend sitting here doing nothing?" Jerik demanded impatiently.
"Do not question my methods Jerik, or have you forgotten who kept you alive this long?" Altier snapped, causing Jerik to step down.
Gale remained quiet in his chair by the window. He enjoyed watching the sky, looking at the planets that surrounded his. He remembered when his planet was bright like the others. Someday, it would be like that again. When Altier completes his plan, they will never have to be afraid again.
"We must attack the Mars Kingdom first. The strongest army in the universe resides there. With them out of the picture, the defences of the other Kingdoms are nothing."
"Correct Jerik, but first we must block the powers of the Kingdom people. With them unable to use power, they will have nowhere to run" Altier grinned devilishly.
He walked outside, into the ruins of the Kingdom he once ruled. Altier avoided going outside as much as possible. When he saw the rumble of his once beloved land, the hatred inside of him burned more severely. His heart beat rapidly, slamming against his chest like it was trying to escape from this hateful man's body.
Hatred was the only emotion he was able to feel for years. He barely remembered the smiles on his people's faces as he passed by them. He didn't remember the music that played happily throughout the streets. The people dancing and enjoying each other. He lost that secure feeling he had. The feeling of peace.
Now, he wanted none of it. He only had Gale left. Gale was the only one who survived that horrible day many years ago. He was only a small boy. So young and innocent, exposed to so much hatred.
Altier still remembered that day. He remembered finding Gale, underneath the rubble, sobbing. He could hear the cries. He thought everyone was gone. He pushed the rubble off of Gale, seeing his large black and purple eyes look at him, swelling with tears.
He remembered his eyes tearing as well when he found him. He reached down and picked the small child up. He held him tight, sobbing along with him as he saw the blood and destruction around him.
Don't worry small child. I will never let this happen to you again. We will fix all of this together...
Altier breathed heavily, his chest swelling with anger. "ARGH!!"
He punched the ground screaming. Flames and water swirled around him, the ground crumbling beneath him.
Gale watched from inside the palace. He was used to seeing Altier like this and it got worse and worse every day. This wasn't the Altier he once knew, but Altier was all he had.
Gale sighed. He couldn't wait to breathe a breath of fresh, calm air after everything was over. He wanted Altier to be happy again. He just wanted everything to be better for them.
Despite everything, he managed to stay positive. He knew Altier would fix everything, just like he always has. He just needed to sit back and wait for it all to work out.
Altier heaved. His veins protruded from his arms, throbbing. Sweat dripped off of his face forming a small puddle on the ground.
"I'm not finished!" Altier screamed, throwing his head back. His black eyes shined, glowing bright into the sky.
Gale jumped up and started to run towards the door outside.
"No Gale!" Jerik yelled, reaching out to him.
Gale burst out through the door, stopping in wonder when he saw Altier. A bright light surrounded him, rocks swirling around him along with fire, water, and wind.
Gale wanted to be strong like Altier, the master of all elements. Altier controlled the very elements that made the planets survive. He could easily make all life on these planets disappear without a single thought. He controlled the living, all elements worked together to make life possible.
Jerik came through the door. He stopped when he noticed Gale and watched Altier with Gale.
"Incredible, isn't he? So much power in one man."
Altier raised his arms up above him, the elements flying even further up into the air.
"Take away their power! Leave them defenceless! Just like they did to us!" Altier screamed, power surging through him at an incredible speed. The light flew through the sky and erupted, spreading the power out along the universe.
He grinned, his eyes returning to normal. He began laughing, knowing that his plan was ready to be executed.
He stood up, feeling even better than before. He was very powerful, more powerful than most who have trained for many years. His hatred made him strong.
"Jerik, I need you to arrange a meeting between the royals. Make sure the Mars princess is there. I was unable to block the royal's powers completely, but they can no longer teleport."
Jerik bowed, an evil smile across his face. Being a royal himself, he was able to easily put these meetings together. He began sending out the memos, arranging the meeting to be at the Flower Kingdom, it being the furthest from the Mars Kingdom as possible.
Soon, the Mars Kingdom will be destroyed. Easily. Altier could quite possibly wipe them out anyway, Jerik believed, but without anyone having any powers, it would be a breeze.
Gale felt a little bad about all that was going on. He didn't really want to see Kingdoms be destroyed, but if Altier needs to do this, then he supported it. But, he still felt bad. Even though these places hated him and his kind, he still wished that someday he could see them.
I guess I always dreamed I could see the places my parents were from, Gale thought, looking up into the sky. Altier was his family, so as long as he was there, Gale felt like he was home.
Altier walked over to Gale and placed his hand lovingly on his shoulder. "Gale, this is the beginning of our new life. I need you to be strong."
Gale nodded and smiled. "I'll be strong dad. I have you."
Altier smiled slightly, something that didn't happen often. He grew to seriously love Gale, as one of his own and Gale grew to love Altier like a father. It was all he knew. Altier was the only person who ever cared about him. The only person who ever accepted him for who he was.
"Soon Gale, we will have our home back... Everything will be as it once was. We can be a happy, care free family."
