Altier grinned, feeling the devastation that was overcoming the Mars Kingdom. The large army was of no use. They were all powerless against his attacks. He was sure he hit near the Mars palace, meaning he hit the main city perfectly. He could hear people screaming in his ears, the cries of a fallen city. The same cries he heard the day his Kingdom was destroyed.

Gale sat outside the rumbled palace, looking up at the sky. He remembered the fear he had when this Kingdom was attacked and he couldn't help but wonder if the people of the Mars Kingdom were feeling that same way. He didn't want anyone to feel that way. He wanted everything to be like it was. He wanted to be accepted and loved.

But, he had Altier. Altier did love him, he was sure of it. He wished they could find happiness without causing others pain, but he wasn't going to disrespect his own father's choices. Altier knew what was right. He ruled this Kingdom for a long time before it was destroyed. He knew what was best for them.

Gale couldn't help but feel like they deserved it. He feared the full blooded people. If they were capable of killing hundreds of people just because they didn't understand them, what else were they capable of? He believed it was only a matter of time before they turned on each other. They should really fear themselves more than anything.

He shook his head, closing his eyes. He didn't like to think like that. He didn't like having hate in him. He would never wish his pain on anyone, but sometimes the thought drifted into his head, like the waves slamming against the shore as the tide rolled in. He always made sure to push these thoughts out of his head.

Positive attitude leads to positive life, he thought, a small smile pushing its way out onto his face.

He curled himself up, holding his legs against his chest and resting his head on his knees. He was getting tired of being alone. Sure, he had Altier and Jerik, but they were always so busy. He spent a lot of time alone with his thoughts and he was getting tired of hearing them.

Gale sometimes thought about his friends. Although he was quite young at the time, he still remembered some things about his friends. Like one friend who father was from the Love Kingdom and his mother was from the Light Kingdom. He was able to use his mind to do just about anything. He could mind read, move things, bend things, and who knows what else. Gale saw him die that day. He was crushed by a fallen building, dying instantly.

There was also a girl. He had trouble remembering her name, but he remembered having a small crush on her. Just a childhood, puppy love, but who knows what it may have grown into one day. Her father was from the Flower Kingdom and her mother from the Moon Kingdom. She was able to summon help, from the living or the dead. Wildlife always surrounded her, protecting her, he always assumed. She talked to the spirits a lot and never seemed to fear them.

Gale was with her the day she died. They were playing. He had just learned to use some of his powers and was showing her a rainbow that he had created in the palms of his hands. She was amazed by this even though his power was no way even close to being as amazing as hers. He remembered her brown eyes lighting up with delight. Suddenly, she was hit. An arrow hit her in the back. Her eyes went blank and she collapsed. He remembered running and running. The only thing he remembers after that is Altier picking the rubble off of him.

He wondered if he would ever feel the way he did for that young girl towards anyone again. He hadn't even seen a female since that day. He wanted to feel love, real love from a real girl. He imagined she would be sweet and smart. She would be sensitive, but not too sensitive, the perfect balance. She would want to be with him and he would not want to be away from her at all.
