They ran from the park as fast as they could. They ran to Buck's where Dallas lived. He was having some sort of party or something because they could hear music. Buck answered the door. "What do you kids want?" he asked. "Buck, we need to see Dally." Darla answered. "It's an emergency."
"He's busy." said Buck, about to close the door. "-Just tell him it's Ponyboy, Darla, and Johnny, man. He'll come." Johnny pushed. Buck nodded and closed the door. The three looked through the window where Buck was holding some sort of party. People were drunk and dancing around like idiots to country music. Then came in Dallas, shirtless.

The door opened again. "What do you guys want?" asked Dallas sleepily. "Johnny killed a soc." said Ponyboy. "What?" Dallas asked. "All right good for you. Let's go."
"-We figured if anyone could get us out of this, you could Dal." said Johnny. "We're sorry to get you away from this party, but I don't know what to do man."
"I was just trying to get some sleep. I got in a fight with Shepard tonight-wait a minute, let's see what we could do about this mess. Get in." said Dallas. "Ponyboy are you wet?"
"Yeah, I'm okay." Pony answered. "Whoa, Darla. Your lips bleeding. Did those socs do that to you?" Dallas asked, examining Darla. "Yeah, but I'm okay. I could use a few aspirin though." Darla replied.

Ponyboy went the wrong way and Dallas drug him back upstairs. When they got up, Buck's dog was coming down and Darla gave it a quick pet before entering Dallas's room. "Hey stupid. Take off the sweatshirt, will ya, man? You'll freeze to death."
Ponyboy took off the shirt and grabbed a towel. "Hey, man. I wish I had a weed now." said Johnny.
"Not now, Johnny." Darla replied.

Dallas loaded a gun and gave it to Johnny. "Here." Dallas said. "Don't point that thing at me, will ya? It's loaded?"
"Why the hell do we need a gun?" Darla asked. "Just in case." Dallas replied.  Darla rolled her eyes. "Here's fifty bucks." Dallas said, giving Johnny money. "Look, I', not anxious to tell your big brother about this and get my head kicked in."
"-Then don't tell him!" Pony said in almost a sob. Dallas handed him a blue flannel.
Here, it's Bucks. It's a little big on you, but it's dry."
Pony put the flannel on. Dallas waved for Johnny and Darla to come near him. "Take the 3:15 to Windrixville. It's a freight. There's an abandoned church on top of Jay Mountain," Dalls said. He put a cigarette in is mouth. "There's a pump in the back, so you don't have to worry about water." he lit the cigg. "Get a weeks supply of food as soon as you get there, before the story gets out, then don't as much as stick your head out the door am I clear?"

Darla nodded her head while the other two stared. "I'll be there as soon as I think everything's cool." the three kids were almost whimpering. "Hey, relax guys. It'll work out, alright."
"Man, I thought New York was the only place I'd end up in a murder rap. Jesus Christ."

Dallas then handed Pony a brown leather jacket, then headed downstairs, where the party was still going on. As they passed the stairs, a teenager that was about 18 stared and smiled at Pony, checking him out. Darla noticed and went into protective mode. "Watch where you put those eyes, or next thing you know, you won't have any."

The girl shot Darla a look and sat down.

The two boys fist-bumped Dallas and Darla gave him a hug. Then the three of them were on the run again.
