"We make assumptions because we don't have the courage to ask questions."

It was silent between Bellamy and I as we made our way back to camp, we would have to send a group to bring back the guns in the morning. We had only managed to carry a sack each and even that was proving to be a challenge, my lips still had a tingling sensation ever since I had kissed Bellamy.

I wasn't sure what this meant for the both of us, I knew Bellamy was a well known womaniser around the camp. Did I want to become another name on his list? The answer was no, I wouldn't be another toy that he'd get bored of and if anything further was to happen between us I was going to make sure he was aware of that.

As we approached the incline down to camp, I felt Bellamy's warm fingers wrap around my wrist.

"Can you come with me to talk to Jaha?" A smile broke out on my face as Bellamy waited for me to answer, he was going to talk to Jaha and he was staying.

"Sure, I want to help." I responded, Bellamy dropped the bag of guns he was holding and cupped my face.

His lips met mine first in a searing kiss and I gasped in shock, he pulled away with a smirk watching amusedly as I tried to catch my breath.

"Let's head back in." I followed without a word as he hollered at Miller to open the gate.

"The grounder is gone." Miller told us as we entered the camp, smoke floated slowly above the fire along with a few embers dotting the ground.

"Let the grounders come." Bellamy stated dropping the sack of guns onto the ground in the middle of camp getting everyone's attention.

I dumped the sack I had hauled back from the depot alongside the other, I stood next to Bellamy as everyone gathered around to hear what he had to say.

"We've been afraid of their knives and spears for too long now, I'm sick of it and I'm sure you all feel the same." Bellamy started as he stepped forward.

"We found guns that we can use to defend ourselves, but we need to be prepared to give them up to the guard once they come down." I added looking around at all the teenagers.

"These are not toys, they are weapons that we can use to keep us safe. A group will be sent out to retrieve the remaining guns tomorrow, after that we'll start with training. We need to be ready to fight when the grounders come." Bellamy finished earning cheers from the crowd.

Finn stood near the drop ship door with a disapproving look over his face, his skin was still sickly pale and he held onto the wall for support.

"Miller get these weapons up to the top level and nobody gets up there okay?" Bellamy asked and Miller nodded in return crouching down to pick up the sacks.

"You ready to talk to Jaha?" I nudged my hip with Bellamy's.

"As ready as I'll ever be." Bellamy looked down at me and took a deep breath.

We headed into the drop ship towards the monitor that Monty and Raven had managed to rig up, I pulled a chair over as Bellamy sat down. There was a crackling noise before Jaha appeared with a stern expression.

"Finally, Bellamy Blake I've been expecting you." I watched as Bellamy gulped, I rested my hand over his to try and ease his nerves.

"I can't say I've been looking forward to it." Bellamy admitted honestly.

"With all due respect chancellor, I believe that Bellamy deserves to be pardoned. We were sent down here by you with the slimmest chance of survival and the reason that most of us are still here is because of Bellamy. He showed us how to hunt, he helped us build a wall and gate to keep us safe from the grounders, but most importantly he's made tough choices and of course he's made mistakes but he's not a bad person." I explained while glancing at Bellamy to see him staring right at me.

"Evelyn Carson?" I nodded in return.

"I apologise to you for not having anyone to speak to back up here, I can imagine it's difficult. Clarke told me how you convinced her to forgive my son before he died, I'm grateful for that I knew how much Clarke meant to him. I have decided that you shall be pardoned of your crime."  I was surprised to hear this come from Jaha who always seemed serious and emotionless.

"I'm sorry for your loss, Wells was one of the good ones."

"Miss Carson, although many have vouched for Bellamy, I can't ignore the serious offense he has committed." Jaha urged as he crossed his arms over chest.

"Surely you can if I tell you that I know who wanted you dead in the first place." Bellamy offered, Jaha sat silently as Bellamy's words weighed down on him.

There was another few seconds of silence before Jaha sighed and nodded to himself.

"Bellamy Blake, you have been pardoned of your offense." Jaha spoke and Bellamy let out a breath of air.

The monitor turned off, Bellamy stood from the chair and ran his hands through his hair in disbelief.

"I've been pardoned." Bellamy stated, I think it was one of the only times I had seen him smile instead of smirk.

"Damn right, I told you it would all work out." I reminded him as I stepped towards him with my arms open.

He pulled me towards his chest, his arms draped over my shoulder while I hugged his waist.

"Did you really mean all those things you said about me? You don't think I'm a bad person?" Bellamy asked looking down at me.

"It's true, you've had your fair share of mistakes but somehow you've made up for them. I don't believe you're a bad person, an asshole at times? Yes, but not a bad person." I confirmed with a smile of my own.

"I'll let that comment slide this once."

Bellamy grinned down at me, I moved arms to wrap around his neck and his arms fell to my waist. I pulled his neck down gently and connected our lips in a kiss, this time I felt truly free and I could tell that Bellamy felt as if a weight had been lifted off of his shoulders.

"Evie ar- holy shit!" I pulled away from Bellamy once I heard Octavia's voice.

She stood there in disbelief and honestly I didn't really blame her, if someone had told me when I first came down here that I'd be kissing Bellamy Blake I would've laughed straight in their face.

"Well there's something you certainly don't see everyday." Octavia pointed out as she raised her eyebrows at me.
