15: Haunting Memories

I missed her.

I missed her like hell, and I couldn't even start on where I missed her. I hadn't heard from her because her part of the deal was done, and she did everything Isabella asked, and it was over, the wedding was covered, and she didn't need to see me anymore. It was like walking around with a piece missing from you and no matter how hard you try you can never find that missing piece.

There were times where I find myself having to reroute where I'm going because I would be driving in the direction of her apartment building. I wondered what she was doing, well I knew what she was doing and that was becoming opposite of what she was known for, instead of being the Diva Majesty she was just Majesty.

I hadn't seen her on TV drunk or on TV for anything senseless, everyone said that she had did a complete one-eighty and had become a different person. I wondered if that was because of me, did I do that much damage to her, because I loved the way she was before.

I felt my blood run cold as the word caused a tremble down my spine:

loved

That was a dangerous word to use if you didn't know how to use it, "Hey are you listening to me?" George said snapping his finger in my face.

Looking from the table at him I mumbled, "Yeah something about HBO."

Sliding a piece of paper towards me he said, "HBO was so happy about the ratings on your documentary that they offered you a one hundred million dollar contract to cover five of your fights."

Looking at the contracts the words jumbled together and created new words of their own, I didn't even think that words these big existed, "What the hell does this thing say?"

"That they are going to pay big money to cover five of your fights." He said furrowing his brows at my hesitance.

Sitting it back down I gave him a blank look, "If that was all that it said then I wouldn't be asking you what it meant."

"Emilio, you would be crazy if you didn't take this deal of a lifetime, they don't offer any other fighter this amount of money." He said jabbing at the paper repeatedly with his index finger.

Looking at the contract again I shook my head, "I'll have to give this to Roz and see what he has to say about this."

Taking it I stood up and he stood up immediately, "What would he know about what's a good deal or not."

I guess the look in my eye proved that what I said wasn't up for discussion but to make shit clearer I said through clenched teeth, "Don't ever question my father's intelligence."

Brushing passed him I walked in the direction of the basement, I stopped in my tracks when I saw her on the television talking to the man that people love so damn much, Jimmy Kimmel, it was like magic the way she could take my attention off of what I should be doing, looking at her exposed legs I remembered how it felt to have them wrapped around my waist.

Yellow is damn sure her color.

Licking my lip I watched the interview and my ears perked up at the question Kimmel asked, "So, I'm sure that you have heard of the story that Leonardo shared with the two of you in New York and running into a crazy fan so do you back up the story?"

"Most definitely and what he forgot to mention was how I invested in some pepper spray soon after." Majesty said giggling.

Laughing he said, "Majesty you have made such a one-eighty in the past month and some of your fans are saying that you have attended a rehab is any of that true."

"No of  course not, white gowns have never been my color," When she said this she earned laughs from the crowd, but I could tell that she was being dead serious, "But I just have been taking a little backseat from the party crowds because if I want to be on the level of my favorite designers than I have to carry myself like such."

Kimmel nodded and said, "So, you have being keeping something under tight wraps and you have been driving my audience members crazy what are you hiding."

"Although I loved working with Time, I have to say that I will be cutting ties with them and taking over complete creative control over LBM and ELBM." Majesty smiled when the crowd began to stand up and applaud for her.

"That really is her color." Isabella said.

Looking at her I saw that she was in yoga attire and leaning against the door frame, shaking her words off I walked passed her, "Yeah whatever."

Hitting the speedbag Roz said over my jabs, "It seems official what their asking in return is fair, just don't do anything stupid like get DQ'd because their liable to file a lawsuit against you."

Not saying anything I paid attention to the bouncing of the speed bag, to any new fighter coming into the big rings would be ecstatic about this large amount of money being thrown at you from every direction but I wasn't because I was too busy thinking about the girl with the smooth chocolate skin. Seeing her in that interview just caused for me to want to see her even more, I needed to see this girl.

"You hearing me mijo." Roz said snatching me from my thoughts.

Stopping my jabs I looked at him,

"What did you say?"

"I said they are going to want for you to do a sit down one hour interview with them on 'One on One: Boxers'." Roz explained.

Nodding my head I muttered, "Yeah that's fine just give me a pen."

Roz looked at me for a moment and sat down on the foldable chair and nodded for me to sit next to him, grabbing a towel I passed it over my face and sat down next to him, "What's up?"

"You miss her don't you." He said looking over at me.

I stared back at him wondering if I should tell the truth or not but the way he was looking at me said that he was going to see through my lie if I chose to lie, leaning forward I clenched my fists, I hated talking about my feelings, "So damn much."

Letting my head fall he placed a hand on my shoulder, "Son, the only thing I can tell you is that, if you go through with marrying Isabella and you're falling for Majesty than the happiness you look for is going to disappear before your eyes."
