**Life is

the only chance you get,

how you live it,

what you take from it,

how much you give back,

a joy and a heartbreak,

doing the best with what you have,

loving with all of your heart,

treating all forms of it with respect,

and a wondrous beautiful mystery.***

Chapter 1:

Welcome to NYC!

I got off the stage only to be hit by exhaustion. My manager Caroline brings me a water bottle and I chug it as quickly as I can

“I’m exhausted.” I tell her.

“Let’s get you back to the hotel. It’s right across the street. No interviews tonight. You need your sleep” I sigh in relief.

I nod and grab my jacket. I walk across the street, escorted by my security team, only to be swamped by the paparazzi. “Peyton! How do you like New York?” “Ms. Raine, when is your next tour coming up?” “Peyton, Peyton! What’s the story on you and Parker?! Are you back together? We have shots of-“I ignored their questions and my security team quickly rushed me inside the hotel doors, safely away from the paparazzi.

Thank God. I always hated the paparazzi, and honestly, I have no idea how the public liked me so much. The paparazzi annoyed me, so I was usually rude and sarcastic to them. I tried my hardest to be as nice as possible with fans, but I always meet them and the most unfortunate times like right after a show when I’m exhausted and just want to go home and not deal with screaming girls.

I walk down the hallway to my suite. When I get it I throw my bags on the counter and flop down on my couch. This was a pretty nice hotel room. Probably the nicest one I’ve ever been in.  I was lucky enough that Caroline was able to book me a room. It’s called The Paradisus Hotel. It is newly opened and loads of people, including stars, were practically killing each other to get in. How Caroline ever got me in, I will never know. But I own her one for this, that’s for sure. My suite was named The Lounge, and it was the most expensive, ostentatious, room I have ever seen. There were thousands of white cylinder lights hanging from the ceiling and the walls were painted all black. When you first walk in you see a huge glass window that lets you oversee the city. The wall opposite of the window rounded the corner followed by a sting of chairs and tables along with a statue and a dent in the rounded wall that you could sit in as well.

The living room had white tiled floor and tall windows. There was a flat screen, an easel, a long couch, and a love seat. Both of which were zebra printed. There was also a long reddish curtain that you could roll over the windows to block the light. The kitchen also had white tiles and black walls. There were also many white chairs around a big white table. Opposite of the table were several chairs lined up, facing the big window that over looked the city. I don’t know how many people they thought I was going to have over, but they greatly exaggerated. Anyway, through the hallway from the kitchen was the sleek black door that glowed purple around the edges that was marked with the restroom symbol.

Then, around the corner were two other doors. One on the right, and one farther down but on the left. Both had black doors, but the right one glowed electric blue and the left bright green. What I loved most about my room, the one on the left, was that it was completely different from the rest of the house. It was simple.. Err. It was lime green, with a small nightstand next to my snow white bed. In front was a small flat screen that had a small table/ desk underneath. Then there was yet again, another window. Seriously, I wouldn’t even have to leave this house to see New York.

I grab my phone off the table and see I got a message from Bridget, my best friend

Bridge<3

Hey! I tried calling but you didn’t answer so I figured you’re doing a show or an interview right now? But we have much to discuss! Call me ASAP! Love you! X

Me:

Hey Bridge! Sorry! I was doing a show. I would call you but I’m beat from today’s schedule. Call you in the morning?

I was hoping she was still awake. It was only 11:30, but with Bridget being a famous singer and myself a dancer and singer, it was tough to talk to each other on the phone regularly. I set my phone back on the table and make my way into my room. I’m still shocked as to how beautiful my room is, that I don’t realize I’m standing there but staring at it. I walk over to my suitcase that I have yet to unpack and pull out my pink plaid pajama pants and a grey V-neck and pull my hair into a messy bun.

I walk back into the living room and check my phone for a message from Bridget

Bridge<3

No biggie. I’m about ready to collapse myself. I’ll talk to you tomorrow for sure! You better call me or I’m coming a week early to beat you up! Goodnight Pey! Talk to you soon! Love ya! X

Me:

I solemnly swear I will call you in the morning. 10:45 sharp! So be expecting my call, and If you don’t answer, then when you get here, I get to shove a pie in your face.,, for old times’ sake;) Goodnight Bridge! Love you too!xx

I take my phone and walk back into my bedroom to plug it into my charger and then walk into the bathroom to brush my teeth. What I like about the bathroom is that it glows purple, but it’s kind of crowded. They must have run out of room. Once I’m done brushing my teeth I turn out the light and crash onto my bed. It feels like a cloud and I wish I could just lay here forever. Luckily, I have the day off tomorrow.
