Chapter 8
Through my constant complaining and badgering August for any hints on where he was taking me, he kept silent the whole ride there. Finally the car stops and before I can even see where we are, hands cover my face.
“August!” I protest.
“No. I told you it was a surprise. So pipe down and cooperate.” He says while opening my door and helping me out of the car. My feet hit gravel when I step out of the car and the air smells crisp. I still can’t figure out where he has taken me. He leads me forward and I suddenly hear people screaming and laughing. My nose is filled with the smell of funnel cakes and cotton candy.
“Oh my gosh August!! Did you bring me to a carnival!?!?” I squeal and jump up and down.
“Yes love. I’m guessing that’s a good thing, yea?” He chuckles and kisses my forehead. I remove his hands from covering my eyes and almost scream when I see the carnival. I haven’t been to a carnival in ages. Not since I was 7 and when I became famous, going to a carnival was almost impossible with my schedule. So yea, I was pretty freaking excited. I grabbed Augusts’ hand and began to sprint towards the entrance when I hand jerked me backward, stopping me from moving forward.
“Not so fast babe. What’s the hurry anyway?” He says with a grin on his face, clearing knowing that he irritated me.
“Comeee onnnnn August!” I wine. Pulling his hand to hopefully make him hurry along. He just rolls his eyes and continues at his pace. Being fed up with this game he is playing I quickly walk up to him and press my lips to his. Almost instantly our lips are moving in sync and his grip on my hand loosens and finds its place on my face, cupping it gently. Once I know he isn’t hold on to me anymore I pull away, breaking the kiss and sprint toward the entrance. Once I make it there I look back and giggle at the sight of August standing there, completely shocked. He walks up, annoyed now and pays for our tickets.
“Don’t be sad August” I say with a baby voice and make sure to make a pouting face. His face loosens a little.
“You’re trick wasn’t nice” He replies. Suddenly his face lights up. “Now, you owe me…” the edge of his lips slightly curl upward. Hmm should I tease him again? Or just kiss him so he won’t pout anymore?
“If you insist…” I whisper into his ear as I wrap my arms around his neck. I lean closer and let my lips gently brush against his. He leans forward wanting to close the small distance between our lips, but I pull back and smirk. He looks at me bewildered and then his eyes flicker. His grip tightens on me around my waist.
“Now, you’re gonna get it!” He shouts as he picked me up and throws me over his shoulder like a rag doll.
“August! Put me down! I’m sorry!!” I shout back. He replies; not a chance’ and keeps me over his shoulder.
When I’m finally put down I look up in pure terror. “No. I’m not going on this. No freaking way August.” I say firmly. He grabs my hand and pulls me closer in line.
“Ohh yes you are missy. You brought this on yourself with teasing me.” He states while a grin spreads across his face. He brought me to a ride that is similar to the Tower Of Terror only a little shorter.
“Oh, does Mr., August enjoy my kisses, yea?” His grin disappears as his face turns red and he blushes.
“No.” is all he says.
“Oh so does that mean you don’t like when I kiss you?” I reply, looking annoyed when I was giggling on the inside. His face terns red again as he realizes what he said.
