I received Attakai's message. I knew it was code. His response saying he  didn't care for us was false, I knew it had to be. He had something up  his sleeve, so maybe he knew all along of the demon's plan afterall. So,  I know that Hanako and the other citizens will be okay. They only have to  deal with one demon now instead of both of them, in case Attakai sends  reinforcements.

The demon followed close behind me down the stairs. I honestly wasn't  sure what I would do next. I only wanted to get at least one of them out  so Attakai's men would have an easier job rescuing the village. I can't  believe this demon is actually falling for my trap, well my plan B. My  plan A was canceled with Attakai's response. Ah, well, plan A probably wouldn't have worked anyway. I was going to have somebody play sick, and  I'd wait by the door with the lantern, and as soon as the demons stepped  in to see what was the matter, I'd shut off the lantern and smack them  over the head. Yeah, plan A was a piece of crap.

"We're here." The demon said. We walked into a long hallway with doors on  both sides that stretched to the very end. I had to squint my eyes to see  what was at the very end of the wide corridor. And what I saw, was not  pretty. I saw a demon the same look as the ones we've met, but only fifty  times bigger, and it had chains across his chest and waist, and I could glimpse a giant pair of wings behind it. It had some shoulder and wrist armour, and there was a giant axe that looks like lava, resting on the side of the chair. It was probably the  demon king. It was sitting on a huge throne that  stretched to the ceiling, and the closer that we walked toward him, the  uglier he got.

"Yes, commence the attack." I heard the large demon say to a small one. As he spoke, I could see his teeth were larger than I was.  "And do not fail, victory is ours this time." Once he had spotted my  presence coming toward him, he shooed the little demon away while he  examined my existence.

"Gozu, what have you brought me here?" His voice rumbled the hall.

"Lord Izanagi, I have brought you a human." Gozu stepped forward and  bowed down.

"And... why is that so?"

"He said he wanted to speak to you. He appears to be the leader of Faye  village."

"I see. Very well then, what do you desire, human?"

"I want to ask you something, Izanagi." Even though I hated his guts for  putting Hanako, the villagers, and me through all this crap, I couldn't  help but have a friendly and respectful tone of voice. "You are the demon  king?"

"Yes, what about it?" He sneered at me.

"Are you the one who built the control tower?"

"Now now, who told you that?" He leaned forward.

"Nobody... myself... I guess." I didn't want anybody else involved with  this.

"You might actually be smart after all to have figured that out yourself.  I am impressed. So, it's true I built the tower. Why do you want to  know?"

"Why did you build the control tower, and bring all these different  species here to fight to the death over fear of being apart of a  genocide?" My voice rose in anxiety and anger.

"Whoah whoah whoah, little human. I did not bring these species here. I  did not do that, nor do I know who did. All these species were here when  I got here, and were worse off than they are now. I built the tower to reduce  the chaos and insanity. When I had arrived, I don't remember how really...  but every individual were fighting each other and never stopped. They  were even fighting their own species, so I had built a place where the fighting ceased, near the middle of the planet, and I threatened to  destroy their food and water supplies if they didn't behave, and it  worked for a while. They had settled down. Until a troll snuck into the  control tower, and afraid of being eliminated, the other species huddled  around the tower as well and started fighting for it, and before long,  the species had united, and the war began." Izanagi took a breathe. "This  war is my victory and mistake."
