"I know I told you that if you won the bet that I'd tell you about your parents... but... well... Since you're staying here for eternity, I had figured that you'd find out eventually." Izanagi patted my head and chuckled.
"T-Takuma?" My mother walked toward the gate. She had messy long blonde hair that would look beautiful if it were brushed. Her green dress was ripped and worn. "Sweetie?"
I stared at her in amazement. She looked the same as she did 14 years ago, only much more exhausted. Soon, my father walked up next to her.
"Son..." His hair color was the same as mine, and almost styled the same, except his was longer than mine. He was wearing a torn white shirt and khaki pants. "My wish was granted... I was able to see you one last time before I die."
"What?" I muttered.
"Your mother and I... Our fates are sealed here. We're going to die in this cell whether we like it or not, but, at least we'll die happy knowing that our son has grown up and continued his life."
"No, you're not going to die, I'm going to get you out of here even if it's the last thing I do!" I clutched the bars on the gate. I could hear Izanagi continue to chuckle behind me. He probably thought my plan was bogus. "What... What happened to you guys 14 years ago? Why did I see your corpses on the floor, but yet, here you stand before me alive?"
My mother buried her head in her hands, weeping silently. My father wrapped an arm around her.
"Son, we've been here since that day 14 years ago. We were kidnapped... By Izanagi's orders. Those goblins took us from our home and child, and threw us in here." I could hear his voice crack as he stopped talking, and I turned my head toward Izanagi and tried to morph my face into the most vicious, pissed-off look a human could do. I think I won a world record for it.
Izanagi smirked and walked up to the gate. "No need to worry about your parents' well-being, I've taken perfect, tip-top shape since they've arrived here."
"Well you've done a good job since they look like shit." I mumbled sarcastically, and shoved him away from the gate. "I don't want you anywhere near my parents, ever again, or I swear on my soul that I will make your existence a personal hell the best way I can."
Izanagi released a mighty laugh. "Sorry, my dear little human slave...." He leaned over me. "But I am hell."
I stared at him coldly. "If you want my full cooperation as your full-time personal slave, you will abide by my demands, and all of them too, no exceptions."
"I guess I did underestimate you in your negotiation skills..." He rubbed his finger and thumb on his chin, then sighed. "I really don't want to deal with a disobedient child, so it's a deal, little human."
I took a breathe in, organizing the questions in my head. "Why did you kidnap my parents, Izanagi?"
"Takuma," My father spoke up. "He wants something from us, something so powerful it can permanently alter the tide of the war."
"You mean like a weapon?"
He nodded. "Your mother and I are the only ones that know of this weapon, so that's why he hasn't killed us yet. We'd rather die then give him the information."
Izanagi scratched his head. "Yeah, and I've tried every torture method that I could find: starving them, torturing one of them while the other watches, slaughtering kids in from of them, but nothing seems to fit through."
"You... asshole..." My hands automatically clutched into fists, and I walked toward Izanagi. I slammed my fist into his chest, but of course it didn't even affect him in the slightest. I knew it wouldn't but I had to let out my extreme anger towards him somehow.
