It didn't matter how hard you tried - there would never be a peaceful day at the Ground Zero Hero Agency.
There was always something going wrong, whether it be the result of Ground Zero himself or a simple rookie mistake from another team member.
Today was one such day where Ground Zero was the one disrupting the peace.
It had been surprisingly, if not suspiciously, calm since the moment you had stepped in earlier that morning. It had just gone noon, there had only been two calls to the Agency and they had been swiftly dealt with by some trainee recruits. As a result, Ground Zero had been locked in his office nearly all day, forced to confront the mountains of paperwork that had been left there for at least a week. Inevitably his impatience would get the best of him, he needed a way to get all of his energy out before the day was up, so it was unsurprising when a loud explosion was heard three floors above the training room, the whole building shaking with the power behind it. A few people looked around in alarm at first, eventually relaxing and returning to what they had been doing, whilst others snapped their gaze to you almost expectantly.
You blew out a sigh, reluctantly pushing yourself up from your office chair, looking back at the door to Ground Zero's office just beside your desk. For a moment you considered opening the door in the hope that the Pro Hero would be at his desk dutifully reading through the documents you had forced him to look over, but you knew better than anyone else that you'd be wasting time. He must have slipped out whilst you were distracted, and had probably threatened the other office workers with his glare to not tell on him.
You cast your own glare to the person situated at the desk across from you, and they hurriedly looked back at their computer screen. As you made your way over to the elevator everyone kept themselves busy, avoiding the wrath of your eye contact. When the elevator doors finally closed you let out a frustrated groan, raking a hand through your hair and closing your eyes for a brief second, snapping them open when the elevator dinged and the door slid open.
Your eyes surveyed the destruction - black soot coated half of the training room, most of the training equipment had been upturned in some shape or form and there was the unmistakable stench of sweat in the air. Ground Zero stood in the middle of the destruction, an obliterated punching bag - or the remains of it at least - laid by his feet, and he met your eyes bravely, challenging you. The frown that slipped onto your face mimicked his own, and you stepped out of the elevator with your crossed your arms over your chest, waiting expectantly.
A deafening silence hung over the pair of you, and the few others that had backed into one of the corners of the training room quickly made their escape, leaving the both of you alone. The two of you continued to stare at each other heatedly, before he finally clicked his tongue and rubbed the back of his head. "Sorry."
"Sorry won't cut it, Katsuki," you snapped. You gestured at the destruction surrounding him. "Do you know how much extra work this is gonna be for me? I have enough on my plate as it is trying to do your work on top of my own."
"Give it to one of the others then," he grunted.
Your frown deepened. "You know I can't do that. It's not fair on them."
Katsuki groaned. "Well what do you want me to say then, Shitty Wife?"
"I don't want you to say anything, I just want you to do what I told you to do in the first place," you hissed, marching over to him, arms crossed over your chest again as you stared up at him furiously. "When did you leave your office anyway? I didn't even hear you."
A grin slipped onto his lips, his arms instinctively reaching around you to grab onto your waist and pull you flush against him. He leaned in close, blowing on your face, grabbing your hand before you could hit his shoulder as he knew you would. "I'm a Pro Hero. I'd be pretty shit if I couldn't sneak past an extra like you."
You groaned, tilting your face to the ceiling and covering your face with your hands in frustration. "You're impossible."
A chuckle escaped Katsuki's lips as he reached up and removed your hands, bringing your face back down with his thumb and forefinger gripping your chin lightly. He leaned forwards and pressed a short kiss to your lips, drawing you as close as he could. When he pulled away he kept his eyes locked with yours, rubbing patterns onto your back with his fingers, one hand reaching up to brush some hair away from your face tenderly, fingers dancing across your cheek affectionately. He leaned in for another kiss, but you placed a hand on his face.
"Nice try, but you're not forgiven."
"Shit."
