when he first sees you he kind of freezes - he doesn't know what to do.

you definitely heard him entering, but he's not any good at comforting people and he knows that uraraka or tsu would be a better candidate for reassuring you.

still, he feels that pull to go to you, and he suddenly finds himself sitting beside you with a hand on your shoulder. he lets you fall into his shoulder, and he rubs his hand up and down your back slowly, mind buzzing with thoughts as he tries to string a solution to the predicament together.

he settles for asking you what's wrong, and he just sits and listen to you as you tell him the reason why you're crying so much.

it depends on what you're upset about on how he reacts - if someone has hurt you then he'll definitely make a mental note to put them in their place later, but if it's something like how you feel about your hero skills then he'll awkwardly reassure you (it's painful to listen to but sweet that he's trying).

once you've finally gathered yourself, he'll double then triple check that you're alright. he's unsure as to whether he should leave you be or not, so he awkwardly lingers for a bit and just stares at you.

"if you ever need me - just say, alright? i'm not the best at comforting people, but i'll try for you."
