Chapter 12

Layla's point of view

I was brought to a room where meetings could be held. Very posh looking and again a beautiful view over the water. It reminded me of a holiday.

'Sit down.' Eric said. Katy was already sitting.

'Like me, Eric is a werewolf.' Katy said. I nodded. No shit...

'Eric and I are mates.' she added. I focussed on something else. What...? Eric stared at Katy. She had trouble explaining. Eric was comforting her for some reason... That mate stuff?

'You only get one mate in your life. You have lost him today.' Eric said. Katy looked like crying. Why was this a big deal? My mate was dead? Okay... I don't feel different.

'Layla, tomorrow your body will realize it and want to be dead. Brody was your mate. He's gone, we're protecting you and trying to stop you from dying.' Eric added very serious. Katy let out a tear and inhaled quickly. I frowned for a second. Brody? My only mate? My mate? I had to ask....

'How do you recognize your mate?' I asked. Eric was annoyed by my question. I slicked.

'Everything about that person is too attractive, her scent will pull you towards her. Her beauty will make you go crazy and her voice is the sweetest sound ever.' Eric said looking at Katy. Katy blushed through her tears. I rolled my eyes. Scent?

'We know you already met him, also today you seemed to be obsessed with finding something when you got to us.' Katy said. I blushed. Was that a person? I mean that scent was a person? Not flowers? Not bodylotion? Someone's scent?! Was I that obvious with recognizing with that scent. The door opened.

'Eric, have you explained?' Mason's sexy voice said. I blushed. I slicked and tried to focus on smelling something. Then the delicious scent hit me again... Damn... It was Mason... For some reason it was obvious that it was his scent, but at the castle it wasn't.

'I have told her about a mate, but not anything else.' Eric said. Katy was a bit frightened.

'Uhm,.. Layla, this is Mason... You know him,.. but, he's the Alpha of the other pack aswell as our Alpha now...' Katy said a bit soft. I nodded... Wait. PACK?! I was in a pack and I had no clue? Friendly pack you could say. I heard Mason chuckle.

'Yeah I know him.' I answered Katy. Mason grinned and sat down next to us.

Eric slicked.

'Well,.. now the process... Well... The first part is commiting to your mate... For your information,.. A lot of our pack members have gone through this process so don't think it's weird...' Eric said nervously. I looked at Mason. His grey eyes were focussed on me and he was smiling because of Eric's explanation.

'Marking... Is the second.' He said through swallowing and sweating... I slicked... What was this?

'Then... you know...' Eric said. I heard Mason laugh. I smiled at that, it was a friendly laugh. He was not making fun of Eric or anything. Eric was nervous and Katy tried to comfort him, but it was hard for him.

'That's it...' Eric finished. Katy smiled and chuckled. She kissed his cheek. Now Mason was here I wanted to hug him... Like I didn't feel the need when he was abscent? I was almost thinking he could be my mate. But that couldn't be if I wasn't thinking about him 24/7... right?

'He means having sex, so you know.' Katy said with a smile on her face. I heard Mason and Eric slick at the same time. It made me blush... Just discomfort guys! I like it!

Before Eric and Katy left, Katy tapped her neck, which reminded me of the scar... Oh my God... Eric bit her! HE BIT HER! Accidental I hope...

'You realize that we're mates...' Mason softly said grabbing my hands. I didn't want to respond... He leaned in and pressed his lips on mine. Again I felt sparks fly, the thing was... It was bigger and better...

'It feels like it's getting stronger.' He whsispered. I nodded and kissed him again. I felt his hand coming between my legs. I grabbed his shirt. I wanted to be on his lap... Like I never was like this when I was with Aron,.. Normally it took some time before I was in for the game...

'Hey, focuss Mason.' I heard Christina say. We looked up, but I didn't feel right. Mason got his hands off of me.

'When?' she asked... When what?

'She's not 18.' Mason said. I rolled my eyes? So how old was he? C'mon!

'Yeah, but we could also wait 10 years and lose the rest of the pack.' Christina said. I felt tension between her and Mason.

'Wait for what?' I asked. She ignored me. I felt angry.

'So, Mason we don't care if it's then or now, but we want it as soon as possible.' Christina said. I was really annoyed. I grabbed Mason's hand and felt some power in my body.

'WHAT are YOU talking about?!' I demanded. She was frightened. She was a bit scared of me. Mason grabbed my chest and turned me around and held me tight. I felt my anger sucked out of me.

'You can't control yourself, baby.' he said. Baby? I felt my body get numb. I exhaled and relaxed. Christina pulled herself together.

'Mating.' she answered my question. Mason slicked. Just thinking about that word made it seem like I was some kind of animal... animals mate... I'm human...

'We can wait.' Mason said a bit worried. I felt my heart skip a beat...

'Why is it important?' I asked, like of course I wanted to have sex with him, but no... I was not going to throw myself at him, even though my body did what it wanted.

'It's not.' Mason said calmly. I smiled.

'It is.' Christina said. I was alarmed... Well, if it's neccesarry... I will... To save the world of course....

'Can you explain it quickly, buut clear?' I asked Christina, still feeling numb as hell..,

'The first part, surrender and commit to him, be his for once and all....The second part, You'll be marked and you'll mark  him... Bite him in his neck so everyone else sees he's yours and you're his.

The third part is mating, just have a wonderful time between the sheets... you know...

And you'll get pregnant and have an army of babies.' She said.

What?! Mark him? Babies? Wait...

'Is Katy pregnant?' I asked getting straight up too quickly. Mason chuckled and nodded. Oh my God, she was pregnant! Did she realize? Was that the crying? Oh MY....

'But, I can't bite him... I'm human... and I don't feel like gettinng biten by anyone... I'm 18 tomorrow and don't want to be pregnant... My body goes crazy everytime you're near me and I feel extremely jealous when you're talking to him. I have anger issues and everytime I feel geting stronger I fall down and cry.' I said very disturbed... Mason hugged me. He comforted me.

'You're not just human.' Mason whispered.
