Chapter 21

Mason's point of view

My pack was under Aron's spell... Everyone including me.... Everything in my head was controlled by Aron, which meant he was getting stronger.

'Nate!' I heard Aron say. He had been staring at us for an hour now... some children were creeped out. Nate looked up, he felt worse than I did... He felt like he had failed.

'I have a plan.' Aron spoke weirdly. Why Nate and not me?

'What bloodsucker?' Nate hissed. Aron just laughed it off...

'Ahhh,... It's a nice offer,.. you'll be released.' Aron said. I raised an eyebrow. I felt Aron blocking my wolf... I couldn't feel my wolf or in any way change...

'You're gonna bring her to me. Today.' Aron ended and closed his eyes. I felt his presence in my head.

'No way! If I would say yes... I will never find her!' Nate yelled slowly standing up. Aron's lips turned into a smile.

'C'mon she's just human. Unfortunately also the daughter of an Alpha... One of the most powerful Alphas that have ever existed...' Aron said very introvert. I was pushed down by Aron,.. I felt it.

'What if I refuse?' Nate asked. Aron stood up and walked to the celldoor.

'Then one of your pack members will die... day for day... One day that has passed, one less pup in the nest... simple.' Aron said unlocking the door. Nate shook his head and faced me. I think he knew exactly what I just realized... He asked us to find her, because he couldn't find her.

'Don't say that!' Aron hissed at me. I narrowed my eyes. Aron took Nate out of the cell.

'I will do it, but feed the pack,.. please.' Nate faced Aron. I saw Aron face me and my pack.

'Deal...' Aron hesitated for a minute, he probably didn't think we needed food.

I looked at some of the children. They were terrified,.. that I had to put the pack through this was aweful. What kind of Alpha was I?

Aron took Nate away and there was a sigh of relief in the pack. I wasn't relieved... I didn't have a great feeling about this... I just hoped he wouldn't find her... If he would,... she was lost.

The day went by and when we got food I skipped myself. First my pack... I slicked. I didn't feel like relaxing, eating and sleeping... My beta was looking for my mate...

'Oh, don't worry Mason.' Aron's voice said. I looked up and two red eyes were penetrating my soul... At least I had a soul. Aron smiled. I knew he heard that. Why was he here?

'I know what you're going through Mason,... but I'm saving best for last...' Aron added. I narrowed my eyes... Did he think he was freaking me out... not a chance.

'Your mate... probably ending up dead... in front of your eyes.' he said. I felt my anger rising. I heard my pack eat. It was kind of gross...

'No mark yet? Damn... Well,.. she did want me at first... I mean she was really giving herself to me.' Aron laughed. I felt like choking him.

'What great Mason feels sad? Can't handle me?' Aron said in an evil tone. I growled. Aron kept on laughing... He was here to piss me off.

'You will have a lot of pain when you die... First the loss of your mate... second I'm gonna make you suffer.' Aron said grabbing my chin.

'Fuck off Aron.' I made it out of his grib which shocked Aron at first. He stared into my eyes, looking away was impossible. Next thing I knew,.. I was on the ground with my pack surrounding me.

'You okay, Mason?' Dori asked. I looked around. I sighed...

'How long have I been away?' I asked. I felt Aron's power keeping me on the ground... the bastard was here.

'Just long enough to get a night of sleep.' Dori answered. A couple of children tried to help me stand up.

'Has Nate returned then?' I asked mostly to Aron. He knew... of course.

'He has one hour before the first victim will fall.' Aron replied. I exhaled deeply.

'Any volunteers?' he added. I turned around. I hoped no children at least... but also not mothers or fathers... or Katy or Eric... Or Dori... Or anyone of my pack... I would wanna give myself...

'Too bad Mason, I thought we had the conversation last night... we'll keep you for the Grand Finale!' Aron said waving his hands up in the air making an amazed face.

'Ahhh,.. he's here.' Aron suddenly said. He stood up and unlocked the door.

'Follow me.' he demanded. We couldn't do anything else but obey him. We walked behind him like zombies... I was like a foot maybe two feet taller than Aron...

We saw Nate naked as he was standing there.

'Where is she?' Carmen said from above me... I hated that Bitch...

'I couldn't find her!' Nate screamed. Was he in pain. I heard the last pack members coming up the stairs and that's when I heard Eric scream in pain.

'Okay, let's take the weak one first... he is nothing after all... Carmen?' Aron requested.

What?! No not Eric,.. please not Eric!
