Finally, the cloud disappeared. We wearily opened the door and waited a moment before letting people leave the dropship. It was evening, so only a few hours had passed, but it had been valuable daylight time we could have used to fortify the camp.
I sighed in relief as I saw the figures of Bellamy, Clarke, Wells, and Finn approaching. There was a young girl walking with Bellamy that I had only seen a few times. I wondered when she had left camp.
"Lose anyone here?" Bellamy asked.
"The condition of Layla's ankle maybe," Murphy joked and I punched him in the shoulder. "No."
Bellamy raised an eyebrow. "Jasper?"
"Still breathing," I assured him.
"Barely. I tried to take him out, but your psycho little sister..." Murphy trailed off as Bellamy's face twisted in anger. The older boy dashed forward and shoved Murphy.
"Bellamy..." Murphy said, trying to apologize.
Bellamy growled and grabbed Murphy by the collar of his shirt. "My what? My what?"
Murphy glared at him. "Your little sister."
Bellamy released him with another shove. "Yeah, that's right. My little sister. Got anything else you want to say about her?"
"Nothing. Sorry," Murphy muttered with a shake of his head.
"Get him out of here," Bellamy ordered a guy in his hunting party. His gaze softened as Murphy left and he looked at me. "You should let Clarke treat that."
Clarke, who was watching the scene close by, nodded and pulled my arm over her shoulder. "Let me help you." Finn was at my other side.
"It's fine..." I said as she started pulling me towards the dropship.
"Oh please," Clarke scoffed. She sat me down by the ladder. "Finn and I have to get this to Jasper and then I'll be down."
I sat and waited for a while until she climbed back down. In her hand there was a bottle of what smelled like alcohol along with some other materials. She gave me a frown and sat down next to me.
"This is going to hurt, isn't it?" I said quietly, glaring at my ankle.
"I have to peel the dead skin off and then clean it with this," she said with a nod. She handed me a ripped seat belt.
"What's this for?" I asked.
"To bite on," she told me.
I sighed and she began to prepare everything, laying tools on a cloth.
"What is that?" I crinkled my nose at the alcohol.
"Monty was trying to make moonshine," she explained.
I grimaced.
"Ready?" she asked but before I could nod she ripped the bandage I had on off.
"AH! What the hell!" I screamed out.
"It hurts less if you don't know its coming."
"Bullshit," I murmured and looked up as Bellamy walked into the dropship.
"You okay?" he asked. "I heard you shout."
"She's going to be shouting for the next hour or so," Clarke told him.
"Oh great," Murphy grumbled as he approached.
"What you going to kill me too?" I growled and then shouted again as Clarke pulled off a piece of the flesh. I glared at her. "I know you are helping me but I feel the need to hurt you."
