Murphy stood beside me as we waited near the inside of the fence around Camp Jaha. A lot had happened since I had been shot. Finn was forced to pay justice for his actions in Tondc and Bellamy, Clarke, and Raven had returned to the scene of the crime to watch them burn his victims.
Bellamy had agreed to go to Mount Weather to free the rest of the 100 and I couldn't help but worry about him. I knew he was with Lincoln but I hadn't gotten to say goodbye. Murphy told me that he had me worried about me after I was shot and I knew that Murphy wouldn't lie about that. I was still frustrated with the boy, but I hoped he would come back.
Murphy had helped me get better slowly and really hadn't left my side ever since I woke up in the recovery room. It was like he was guarding me, but I didn't complain. Murphy and I only trusted each other. We both were outsiders here and our time spent as captives together in the grounder prison made us close. Before we had simply been friends of only a few days, but now I couldn't imagine a world without Murphy in it.
Kane stopped beside us, waiting as the large assembly of Grounder approached. I had totally forgotten about the man since I had left the Ark but he took up a leadership role on behalf of the council after Jaha went missing. He watched the approaching Grounders easily but I could tell he was anxious.
They were a group of Trikru led by Indra. The muscular and frightening woman was one of the first I met when training under Lexa. I knew she didn't like me much, but as a student of the Commander, she trusted me as did Lexa.
"Eyes up. Heads high," I heard her say in the native language. "Remember we're the ones with a thousand warriors in the woods." Her eyes shifted to me and I gave her a nod.
They didn't trust anyone from the Ark and I didn't blame them.
"Welcome," Kane greeted as they walked through the open gate. "I thought we'd start with a reception then move on to training. We have a lot to learn from each other." He pointed at a table close by. "Weapons there, please. Only Ark guards are here."
I was surprised that Indra obeyed so willingly. She turned back and stopped in front of me.
"I am pleased to see you are recovering," she said, eyeing the sling my right arm was trapped in. "You look sickly still."
"Blood loss," I told her.
She nodded and scoffed as Murphy stepped closer to me. Her eyes were laughing at his protectiveness and I smirked, raising my eyebrow at her slightly.
Kane interrupted us. "Thank you for agreeing to this, Indra."
Indra snapped to him, "We're here on the commander's orders. I agreed to nothing."
Kane nodded slowly. "Please, we'll begin in a moment." He faced Jaha who was glaring at me from the side. I squinted at him and I saw Murphy do the same as his arm brushed mine. "They want us to start."
Jaha spat. "This is a mistake."
"The mistake was letting you out of prison," I told him angrily and the man fumed. Abby had placed him in prison after he nearly went insane from being held captive by Lexa. All this had happened while I was recovering, otherwise, he wouldn't have made it back.
"Shut up you traitor," he growled at me before addressing Kane. "Let me tell you how this ends, Marcus. Either we lose and Mount Weather kills us all or we win and our new friends do."
Kane frowned. "I thought you had faith."
"This is their land, and believing that they'll let us live here happily ever after isn't faith, it's stupidity," Jaha told him blankly.
