Chapter 8: Friends

Angeline POV

I just received the greatest news of the week! Break na si Xyza at Ryle. Besides that, may bali-balita pa nga na baka mag-repeat pa ng isang year si Xyza. Awww, pitiful soul.

That's what you get for trying to mess with me. Everything you have, it's all gone now!

Ngayon... isa nalang ang kulang sa akin. Si Ryle.

Tinanong ko kung nasaan siya sa mga mutual friends namin pero dalawang araw na pala siyang di pumapasok.

Like last time when they had a fight, I'm sure he's only at their house. With Xyza out of the picture, I'm more definite about my plans. This time, I know it's going to work.

Pagkatapos ng huling klase ko, di ako nagpa-drive sa amin at dumiretso na agad papunta kina Ryle. Aside from my personal agenda from him, I also got him the notes he have missed from being away from class.

"Hi, Tita!" bati ko kay Tita Astrid at nakipagbeso na din.

"Wow! It's nice to have you here, Gie. Naka-uniform ka pa. Can I ask what brings you here?" tanong ni Tita.

"Is Ryle there, Tita? I heard he hasn't been going to his classes. I'm worried for him so I got him the handouts and notes he missed for the past days." I said simply.

Mukhang na-touch talaga si Tita sa sinabi ko.

"Aw, sweet girl! For sure, you know what happened, right? Ayun, ang tigas ng ulo! Nagkulong lang sa kwarto. Try if you can talk to him, hun." sabi ni Tita.

Sinamahan ako ni Tita papunta sa kwarto ni Ryle na nasa ikalawang palapag pa. As expected from a known family, maganda din ang interiors ng bahay nila. Actually, standing here outside of Ryle's door, I can't help but also admire how beautifully it was carved.

Kapansin-pansin na dalawa lang sa mga kwarto sa ikalawang palapag ang ganito, panigurado ay master bedrooms. There was marble carved into the doors and some gold-like decorations.

"Ryle, anak, you have a visitor." sabi ni Tita Astrid as she knocked the door.

"I'll leave you here." sabi ni Tita Astrid nang marinig namin ang footsteps ni Ryle. She gave me a small smile and gave her back mine too.

Pagkabukas ni Ryle nang pinto, tila nagulat siya ng nakita niya ako. But before he can even close it, I forced my way inside his room.

I like the way his room looked. It screamed him all over, especially with the black and brown accent of the whole room. Pati ang tiles sa bedroom niya, agaw-pansin.

"Gie... ikaw pala." sabi ni Ryle na naupo na sa malaki niyang kama.

I sighed as I sat next to him there.

"I've been worried about you, Ryle. Di ka pumapasok. I got you the notes you missed in class, here..." sabi ko sakanya habang hinahanap ang mga notes na nakuha ko sa mga kaklase niya.

"You don't have to... pero I really appreciate your concern, Gie. Thanks." sabi sa akin ni Ryle at kinuha ang mga notes.

"You can always talk to me, Ryle. I know what happened. It's no secret to everyone." sabi ko sakanya ng mariin.

He looked at me once before looking down and just staring blankly.

"I don't know, Gie. I've always been used to having Xyza all my life. Ngayon na hiniwalayan niya ko, parang di ko na alam ulit kung paano ako wala siya..." he said aimlessly.

I wanted to curse Xyza right now. For having this freakin' effect on Ryle! She really doesn't deserve him at all, that bitch!

"Well, before you met her, you were doing fine, Ryle... Maybe it is now the best time to move on. Maybe life has other plans for you." sabi ko sakanya, hoping to convince him.

"I don't want any of my life before Xyza..." sabi niya sa maliit na boses, breaking my heart a little.

Ang stubborn naman ni Ryle! Nakakainis. I feel like my insides are slowly twitching as well. I feel like anytime, my anger for Xyza and my love for him would just burst anytime.

"Listen, Ryle..." I said as I held his hand while the other held his face so he'd just face me.

"I like you. I have always liked you. You're the only man who can make me feel this. Trust me, I've seen models and so on in Manila but no one compares to you... Let's say, why don't you give me a chance, huh? Give us a chance." sabi ko sa isang matapang na boses.

Nakita ko ang bahagyang pagkagulat ni Ryle na nakatulala lang sa akin. Before he could say anything more, I kissed him on his lips. It's actually my first kiss ever and I'm glad it's with him.

It was a long, deep kiss and I was the first one to pull away to see his reaction. He was just looking at me with an uncertain reason.

Again, I kissed him again and it's like fireworks exploded within me when he kissed me back. He deepened the kiss and even caressed my stomach up to my undersides of my boobs.

When he caressed my thighs and accidentally grazed over my breast while he was deepening our kiss amidst it all, I couldn't help but let out a moan!

He has awaken senses from me that I never even knew existed.

But when he heard me moan, it was like his signal to stop. He suddenly stopped and looked away from me.

"I'm sorry, Gie... I shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry... This isn't right..." mariin niyang sabi.

"Anong mali dito, Ryle? With me you could move on from her and we can be happy together! I also have the looks and body just like hers!" I couldn't help but shout at him.

"No, Gie... you don't get it. I feel like there's really unfinished business with me and her. I still need to get her back." he said in a low voice.

The moment he said that, I couldn't help my own tears to fall down. After so long, this is the first time I've ever cried! This is the first time I've also even cried over a guy!

He groaned a little and hugged me. He caressed my back softly and comforted me with soft voice. With him being like that, how can I not like him?

"We-we can go to Australia, you kno-ow. Mommy is planning to franchise there. We can start a new life there together, with you pursuing your Master's as we-well." I stuttered saying since I was still calming down from my cries.

Kinalas niya ako sa aming yakap at siya na mismo ang nagalis ng mga luha na nasa mukha ko.

"Sorry, Angeline. I don't see myself like that without Xyza... I appreciate your feelings for me and I think you're a really good friend. Maybe we should stay like that?" he firmly said, much to my annoyance.

Good friends? No, Ryle. I don't want us just like that. I won't let Xyza have you ever again!
