TRIGGER WARNING TOWARDS THE END OF THE CHAPTER, GETS A LITTLE SAD, DO NOT READ THE FLASHBACK IF EASILY TRIGGERED

The STAR labs group had brought us to an airfield just outside of town, everyone was wondering what Barry would really do. "It's impossible," Caitlin said.

"How possible am I?" I asked, shrugging.

"Touche" Caitlin huffed, sitting by the computer.

"How does it fit?" Cisco asked as Barry stepped out in a skin-tight red suit and a black helmet.

"Little snug," he said. I covered my mouth and turned around to stop myself from laughing. Caitlin looked at me and raised her eyebrows.

"Shut up" I whispered.

"Detective, why don't you help Mr. Allen with his gloves" Wells smirked.

"Yea," I said, walking over to where Barry and Cisco were talking about his helmet. I took Barry's hand and started fixing his glove.

"This will protect you from potential sonic booms, which would be awesome" Cisco held up the device. "It can also protect when she screams"

"What?" Barry asked, looking at me. I gave a look at Cisco, he became sheepish.

"You haven't told him?" Cisco asked.

"Haven't gotten to it yet" I sighed. "Cover your ears"

Everyone covered their ears, Barry did it hesitantly. I turned around and let out my scream, it lightly cracked the cement. I stopped and turned back to Barry who looked at me shocked.

"I have a sonic scream" I shrugged.

"Woah" Barry sighed.

"Yea, it's awesome" Cisco laughed, "I'll be right back"

I continued to help with Barry's gloves, I could tell he was staring at me. I looked up and saw him smiling at me. "What?" I asked.

"Nothing," Barry shrugged. "Did you ever go back to Starling?"

"Yea, I had to pick up my stuff and such," I said, "But I've mostly been here, helping Joe and Iris, staying close by to you"

"You didn't cause me to get struck by lightning," He said, taking my hand.

"I know, but I could've helped, I could've gotten us both out of there," I said, "5 years of training blinded by..."

"By what?" He asked. I leaned up and kissed him wrapping my arms around him, he was taken back a little but began kissing back. We pulled apart and I smiled. "Okay"

"I ship it, but we need to test his speed" Cisco and Caitlin came over. I nodded and made my way over to the tables.

I sat at the desk and began monitoring his heart rate, something Caitlin taught me during one of my late night visits when she needed a nap. "Though we do want to know the extent of your abilities, I do caution restraint," Wells told Barry who nodded.

Caitlin came back and sat with me, Cisco stood near where Barry and was holding the speed radar. "Alright," Cisco nodded. Barry nodded at us and in seconds he was running up the airfield. Caitlin, Cisco, and I's hair get blown back, papers go flying, and Cisco fell over.

"Oh.. my.. god," Caitlin said. I stood up and saw that Barry left yellowish electricity as he ran.

"Yellowish lightning..." I walked over.

"He just passed 300 knots per hour" Cisco announced. "Amazing"

I notice Barry slowed down a little and seconds later water went up in the air ant the line disappeared. "Barry!"

~

Barry had broked his hand but miraculously had healed. "How is that possible?" Barry asked.

"I have no idea," Caitlin said.

"What happened out there?" Cisco asked.

"I don't know," Barry shook her head. "I just.. I thought of my mother. She was murdered 25 years ago, the night she died there was lightning around the room, something just like mine"

"What do you mean?" Caitlin asked.

"I don't know" Barry sighed. "I need air"

He got up and walked away, I stayed back and sighed. "I need to call my father" I grabbed my phone and walked into the hallway.

"Hello?" Dad asked.

"He's awake," I said.

"What?" He asked.

"He woke up and he is fine," I said. "He's walking, talking, he's fine"

"That's great!" He was smiling, "That's great, Avery"

"I won't be able to visit yet, but I will be back soon," I said, "I just need to help him"

"Of course, of course," Dad said, "But it is coming up to..."

"I know"

Shado held onto my hand as I screamed in pain, "Avery, I need you to stop pushing, it can kill both of you" She said.

"It hurts" I whimpered.

"Shado, their coming!" Slade and Oliver ran in.

"She's in labour," Shado said.

"We need to get her out of here," Slade said.

"She can't move, the baby is breached and she is into much pain to walk," Shado said.

"We can stay, but we'll have to be quiet," Oliver said. "I'm going to cover your mouth"

I nodded and leaned onto him as he covered my mouth. Shadow held my hand and Slade made sure to stand between me and the entryway. I heard the boots and guns outside, marching around. I started feeling another contraction coming.

"They went that way, sir!" someone shouted.

"Get them!" they began running away. The minute we were in the clear, I began crying.

"I can't, I can't" I shook my head.

"I need to reposition the baby," Shado said.

"It hurts" I sobbed.

"Hey, you'll be fine, both of you will be fine" Oliver began consoling me.

"Okay, do not push at all" Shado commanded. I nodded and squeezed Oliver's hand and l breathed.

Shado began attempting to reposition. Slade turned to keep watch. "Shado" I panted, "Another contraction"

"I know, just keep trying to hold it back," Shado said, "Almost"

I cried out in pain. "I can't"

"Yes you can," Oliver said.

"Okay, okay, start pushing," Shado said. I began pushing and Shado held the blanket down.

"Fuck!" I cursed. In seconds, the pain began to subside, but there were no cries.

"What's wrong?" Oliver asked. "Why isn't he crying?"

"Shado?" I asked. She flipped him and began rubbing his back, patting it, doing everything she could.

"What's happening?" Slade came over.

"Shado!?" I commanded. She stopped and let off a silent huff.

"I'm sorry," She said, "He's not breathing"

"What!?" I exclaimed.

"Let me see" Slade took him and began trying as well, I began sobbing and Oliver held me.

"1 minute without air..." Shado sighed.

"NO!" I sobbed into Oliver's shoulder.

"I'm sorry, Avery" Shado sighed.

"Why!? Why me!?"
