Clary's:

Conciousness started to slur its way back to Clary as she opened her eyes. She was in her room again but somehow everything felt so...different. She guessed after she fell asleep Alec had carried her back.

Clary had fallen asleep in his arms and she fell... right. Like it was a normal thing to do. Like it was her right place to be as it brought her peace. Finally after a year, nightmares didn't bother her sleep, waking her up in tears, disoriented and hopeless. Her dream tonight was just herself, floating in a midnight blue sky full of stars, floating motionless, her mind thoughtless - if it had tried to think, maybe it would have been able to connect with something else so familiar.

She glanced at the clock. 5:03. Well she hadn't had much sleep after all and nevertheless it was the best in a whole year.

- " Clary, what have you done to yourself?"

Maybe that was her inner voice that had spoken. Well what had she done to herself?

Clary got out of bed, then reached out for her make-up set - a routine that she had gotten herself used to lately then think better. Instead she headed for the closet only to find the choices available being kinda disappointing. Who else could she blame on? Eventually Clary pulled out the only item that was attractive enough and put it on: a flannel shirt in various shades of blue and a pair of black shorts. She never checked how she looked in the mirror, afraid of seeing the destructive result of a year of self-abusing.

Clary wondered what Alec must have thought about that. About all of THIS.

She descended down the stairs, midway notice that the kitchen light was already on. Alec was standing near the sink with one hand propped on to the kitchen table, slightly leaning to it. He was taking a call and she wondered what kind of person he was talking to possessed the ability to make that calm and collected Alec had his hand in fist, a deadly frown on his face, his voice emotionless:

- "You really have no idea, don't you?"

Clary was pretty sure that if she was the one answering that right now, she would have chills from Alec's words.

- "DON'T YOU? Then how you dare..."

His sudden raise in voice startled her and one of her slippers made a faint sound. Alec paused midway in the sentence and looked at her, from head to toe for a while, studying her. Then their eyes met.

Probably at that moment the person reminded him of their undone talk.

- "Look, you can deal with your own shit."

With that, he disconnected his phone and turn to her again. Clary forced a smile:

- " Did I just hear the collected and well-behaved Alec curse?"
