Hayley walked out of the gas station store with a bag full of supplies to find Klaus and Ophelia waiting for her outside their SUV.She pulled a black and white trucker cap that read, "Mother Trucker" on it and waved it at Klaus, who immediately objected to it, "Absolutely not!" He exclaimed, shaking his head in disapproval.
"We need to blend in! You could start by losing the thousand-dollar jacket." Hayley reminded Klaus, gesturing to his expensive jacket, "Ophelia's even blending in. I mean, look at her."
Klaus rolled his eyes, turning to look at Ophelia, "Ophelia always wears that, it doesn't make the slightest difference," He sighed petulantly, noticing the look the women gave him and made a face at both of them, "Tell me again why we're on a scenic tour of Methamphetamine Country, and not compelling a jet to some far-off--preferably tropical--destination?" He paused, grinning slightly, "I mean, don't you want to fulfill Ophelia's dreams of traveling the world? After all, she's three hundred years old and has never left the country."
Hayley rolled her eyes at Klaus' attempt in mentioning Ophelia to get her to agree, "Look, I'm not the one with an army of pissed-off vampires coming after me." She commented with an attitude.
"Give me the keys," Ophelia demanded, holding her hand out to Klaus.
"No manners, I see," He remarked, dramatically rolling his eyes and sighing once more. After doing so, he took the keys out of his pocket and reluctantly slammed them into Ophelia's open hand, "On a scale from one to ten, exactly how much do you suspect I am going to despise this little plan of hers?"
Hayley rolled her eyes at Klaus for talking about her as if she weren't there and made a face. She acted as if she were thinking about it for a moment before she finally replied, "I would say... a solid eighty-five."
Hayley gave Klaus a mocking smile and slapped the trucker cap on his head. Klaus rolled his eyes at Ophelia as she began to laugh hysterically at the sight of him. Klaus, annoyed, began to glare at Ophelia as she tried her hardest not to laugh, but failed miserably.
She awkwardly cleared her throat, finally beginning to die down on her laughter, "Sorry, you just..." She trailed off, beginning to laugh again, "You just look utterly ridiculous with that hat."
"Thank you, Ophelia, as if I didn't already know that," Klaus sarcastically responded as he and Ophelia turned back to the car, where Hayley was already sitting in the back seat.
As Klaus was about to take off the hat, Ophelia quickly spoke up, "Nope," She insisted and Klaus found himself unable to move his hand to take off the hat.
He struggled to finally turn to Ophelia with an annoyed look, knowing that she was using her magic stop him, "Quit it," He demanded and Ophelia simply smiled at him as she walked closer
"Are you going to take off the hat if I stop?" She asked Klaus, crossing her arms over her chest while still using her magic to control him.
"Yes," Klaus responded, only to notice the stern look Ophelia was giving him, which caused him to sigh, "No, I will not."
"Do you give me your word—" She started to say and as Klaus got ready to answer, Ophelia continued on, "Do you give me your word that you will not take your hat off and also not try to find any loopholes like compelling someone to take it off for you?"
Klaus sighed in defeat, clearly annoyed that Ophelia was able to predict what he was going to do before he even had time to do it, "I give you my word that I won't..." He trailed off, clearly not wanting to recite everything she had said, "Do any of those unspeakable acts."
