The Monkees Part 1

Chapter 24

In this chapter, you will find out the real reason why they are after Mike.

They got a safe distance away. Peter pulled the monkees in for a hug one by one. He was very happy to see his 3 friends with him alive and well.

"Hey Pete, dont cry." Mike said trying to get Peter to stop crying.

"I cant help it Mike. I actually thought you guys died in that blast. I thought I would never get to see you again. This only proves that nothing can get rid of you guys." Peter said with a wide grin while wiping away a few tears in the process. "So, how did you guys find me?"

"We just followed bread crumbs." Micky tried to lighten the mood by joking a little bit.

"It wasnt easy Petah." davy responded putting a hand on his shoulder.

"Thank Mike. He knew his way around. He told us he has been there before but he wont tell us the entire story. He just told us that he was snooping around."

"Come on fellas. I'm not going to tell you because its just going to put you in danger. Thats why I havent told you the entire story. I cant lose yall again."

"Oh. Is that why you haven't told us what it is?"

"Yeah. Because it got me involved in something I never wanted to get involved with. Now I have some important information that could get me killed. I can't tell you what it is. I hope yall can accept this."

"Of course we can Mike." Micky mentioned.

"Is this why they have been after you?"

"Well, that guy at the beginning of this whole ordeal, was just a coincidence. I knew they would look for me sooner or later. You remember Mick, when I went back to the pad that one time about 2 months ago, and I had a deep cut on my arm?"

"Yeah. You told me you got in a fight with someone. I kinda knew that wasnt true because you arent the person to get into fights. I just didnt want to bug you about it."

"Yeah. For a pretty good reason. They came after me several times before. They even sent someone to try and assassinate me but it didnt work. He was fired shortly after for missing several times. Then they decided to try to kill me themselves. It hasnt worked yet. I'm still here. I have fought them off many many times. Thats one reason why the might have took Peter. I knew they werent going to hurt him because they want me instead. They used him as bait to get to me."

"So, what's your plan?" Davy asked.

"I ain't got a plan. They can come find me. They know where I live. So, they can come and get me if they really want me."

"Mike, aren't you scared that they might kill you over that little piece of information you know?" Peter asked as they began walking again.

"Not really. I've been running from them for 6 months already. I'm done running. If they want me, they will come and get me."

"You can't just give up running from them Mike."

"I can't keep running. Its putting you 3 in danger. I dont need anything happening to yall again. See, this is the way I see it..........If you got kidnapped by these guys, they might not be as gentle as they were with Peter. And if something happened to one of you, I'll be blaming myself for whatever injury you take. You get what I'm saying?"

"Yeah. But you also need to know something Mike..........." Davy said as he stepped in front of Mike and pointed his finger into Mike's chest. "This isn't just your fight. It became our fight too. We aren't letting you fight by yourself."

"Davy's right. Its not just your fight Mike. We won't leave you to fight alone. You should know that buddy." Peter said. Davy moved away from Mike's face and the quartet began walking again.

Micky turned around for a second after hearing some shouting. "Well, it seems like they found out that Peter is missing."

"Yeah. Come on. Lets pick up the pace. They will be searching this area pretty soon."

"There's no where to go. There's only trees here for miles."

"THen we do what we did last time we were being chased in the woods. Just be sure you dont pull the same trick I did. This time, I dont want them to know we're here."

They each went up trees again and went up so far so they wouldn't be spotted and they all kept quiet. The voices did manage to get louder and louder. There were people swarming under the monkees and they looked behind every tree. They were only looking for Peter. They had no idea there were now 4 they should be looking for.

Mike looked over at the other 3 monkees who were spread out in different trees staying as quiet as possible. He looked below himself. Someone was below him. He recognized the guy that stood below him as one of the guys who was sent to kill him when he found out about some infomation. This guy is dangerous. He knew that. So, he knew he must not make a sound or he could be killed on the spot.

He heard the guy sigh and as he stood in one spot. He ended up looking up.
